Today I will show you how to create some nice VFX for weapons, and you can also adapt this knowledge to apply this effect to characters and
any object. for this we will use the Godot's powerfull VFX GPU particle system, and visual shaders. So. lets get started..

I started using Godot 3 weeks ago and am still figuring out the basic game mechanics for my first project. Videos like this make me understand that realizing my dream game isn't impossible! It's amazing how you guide us through all those encapsulated menus! As a beginner it looks like 90% of the functions are not used and it's impossible to understand which tools do what when configured properly. So big ups that you also explain what the settings you choose actually do! Keep up the good tutorials. :)

thanks mate :D.. this means a lot to me.. I always try to do a balance, so my tutorials are a bit beginner friendly, but also does advanced stuff.. in a less than 20min videos lol.. anyways, good luck with your project mate, I'm sure you can do it :D as long you keep going and never give up.. maybe it will take a lot, but making good stuff takes time :) ..so, just don't forget to have fun and enjoy the process..

thanks :3 💙.. oh, in 2D its almost the same.. just use 2DParticles, and CanvasItem-Sprites instead of planes.. also make sure to set the Textures in "Repetitive mode"..

Hello friend, I really like your videos, keep making them, I saw the video on how to create the rays, but you didn't show how you made the rays follow that sphere simulating the player, how you made the mesh bend towards the position of Players?
@Le_x_Lu
@Le_x_Lu 3 ай бұрын
Hey Galo, thanks man :3 .. good question.. its a quite tricky, but you can do the same as if it was a Rope, using a Physical Bones 3D chain..

@@Le_x_Lu can you do a tutorial or teach me? :3
@Le_x_Lu
@Le_x_Lu 2 ай бұрын
@@galo.official it is a quite complicated.. i will recommend to look for a tutorial about "How to make a basic 3D rope in Godot" and just disable the gravity and pin the rope/mesh to the object.. but instead of using a rope, use the thunder mesh..

Very good course. I have a lot of cool Unity skill effects courses and design resources here. I think it would be meaningful to replicate them in Godot. If needed, I can provide them to you for free.

thanks man 😉... I already have some experience using Unity and Unreal, all im doing is adapting my knowledge to Godot Engine... but its not easy, each engine is very different in some aspects.

it would mean a lot if you about the "whys" of the process. eg: why the red channel to the alpha? 4:17 why not green or blue. stuff like this can give intuition and general perspective for us to be able to make our stuff and fiddle around more with it
@Le_x_Lu
@Le_x_Lu Ай бұрын
thank you for the feedback 🙂... will take that in mind for my next tutorial... Sometimes, i want to dive a bit more into my explanations, but the video would be too long... so I detail a bit more when i have extra time (less than 20min).. every channel works rather is Red, Green or Blue, since its a black+white texture just 1 single channel is needed.. no full RGB color, since it takes x3 processing power shader operations that is not really needed, for a single black+white texture..
