Don't use scale to change the size of a mesh though.
@Le_x_Lu15 сағат бұрын
thak you for the feedback.. there's no problem by using scale in this case, this is just a single mesh with NO collision stuff.. so, its ok.. otherwise scale property would not exist in 3D meshes 🙂 is there to be used
@0HHC12 сағат бұрын
@@Le_x_Lu It‘s bad for performance. There is semantically no sense in scaling when you‘re defining an object.

@@0HHC oh i see.. :0 .. you mean, because its doing and extra calculation over the Quadmesh plane constructor?.. didn't knew about it, thats interesting 🤔 thank you so much for this, will be carefully next time..

This method requires a really absurd amount of time needed for the creation of a single magic bullet, since I need to create an RTS magic-based I have to implement something like 500 - 1000 vfxs, we need to find a better way. Anyway, thanks for the demonstration.
@Le_x_LuКүн бұрын
quality takes time.. good thing is, once you have created everything is really easy to customize the effects, like I did for all the effects of the video.. I first created the fireball and then i quickly created all the variations modifying the existing fireball.. even tho, it took time to find the perfect colors and times for each effect..

OKay, here's one I've been struggling with, and I keep trying to adapt things you've shown us and just can't get it right. A wind attack, I can get the actual ability no prob, but a sick graphic that makes it clear what's going on has been difficult, and would also be a bit different than what you've done so far I imagine.

it depends on the style of your game.. if its a reallistic game you can make it like a distortion air compression effect.. if its stylized you need to play with transparency vs color gradients.. As long as you train your artist skills, and understand the technicall stuff I explained on this video you would be able to do awesome things 😁

Stop posting these videos! I need to focus on the boring backend stuff in my game... I can't spend all day implementing beautifully stunning visual effects. T_T Jokes aside though: How long have you been working with Godot? It's always impressive how you make something and it looks aweful but after pressing the 3 right settings it looks stunning.
@Le_x_Lu3 күн бұрын
hehe.. backend can be funny too sometimes, but yep, its frustrating most of the time.. I've been working with godot since the version 4.0 release.. but i had previous experience using other engines and in general programming apps in C++ which was really helpfull, and helped me to learn godot really fast..
