Godox now has a Bowens mount adapter for the projector attachment. I intend on using it with my CAME-TV Boltzen 55w lights.

Hey, I just watched several Videos about the godox s30 kit, and your video is the best so far!👍👍👍👍 It was really helpful especially when it came to the thing how to fix SA-O6 and how to fix the gobo's ...it's a pain in the a** that godox has no Manual as well as in the s-30 kit as in their down Videos.

Excellent presentation. This goes beyond product review, it is an online manual. Very thorough and educational. I learned a lot. Thank you. On a side a note, I have a boltzen cametv 55w led with bowens adapter. Will just get a snoot with gobo inserts that functions pretty much like this unit.

thanks for this review very nice - i have an older canon 700d i wonder what ISO you would need to use these lights with because for my camera i find 800 ISO is already too noisy

Nice review! Would you recommend the S30 as a hair light, or is it to bright for that? Also, is the light quiet enough to use with a Sennheiser 416 microphone?

Thanks for your feedback. As for the softbox, if the s30 is all you have, yes you can and as long as you shoot at f2.8 and wider. The S-30 is intended primarily for accents, spots and projection despite the existing softbox accessory.

Very well made video. I watched this hoping to find a solution to put scrims. I'm using the SA projection kit with the Bowens adapter on UL150. However I'm not able to find the correct slot for scrims. Unable to put it before the projection attachment Let me know if there's any way to put them.

The scrim goes where the gel filters go. *not the gobos slot*

It mounts on any light stand like every other lighting unit.

Great review, very useful. Would you know the closest focussing distance of each of the projection lenses? I have looked around quite a bit but haven't found the specs for the lenses. I intend using it for product photography and prefer the brighter and tighter beam of the 150 mm but have a very small studio and hence the question. Thanks in advance!

You’ll be able to use the 150mm even in a bathroom sized room. So I wouldn’t worry too much about focusing distance for a small studio. Btw the S60 is out. I also reviewed it if you want to take a look.

Thanks for this. About the wire scrims, especially the full mesh, does that mean that when you change the intensity of the S30 (via the intensity knob) the white balance changes? Which is why you’ll need the full wire mesh as opposed to just lowering the power.

Pasmadong Kamay I don’t have a color spectrometer but it it changes, it would be something so small that you won’t even notice.

I purchased this light after watching this video, however it seems my 63mm lens won’t fit into the focusing adapter. It gets stuck yet the 85mm fits perfectly how it’s supposed to. Do you have any suggestion? Or do you think I may have gotten a faulty unit.

legoguy830 Well... I’m pretty sure you checked that the tightening screws are loose right? It should slide like butter. I wish I could see a video about the problem if you could upload it as UNLISTED, real quick with your cell phone then share the link here. Once I watch I’ll let you know and you can delete the video. This light is not designed for interviews. Yes, you need more lighting and the S30 is only 30 watts for interviews . Get another light that accepts Bowen’s mount for keylight. Then use the S30 for projection, hair light, accents etc.

If you want to blast or vacuum a cooler that has a fan, just stick a toothpick or something there first. That will stop the fan

can i use ML60 with SA-17 adapter ?? would i get same output of S30 ?

No, because the ML-60 doesn’t have a focusing lens. The SA-17 adapter is not nearly close to the same results attached to a standard COB light.

ads 3000 I don’t remember the precise dimensions of the Godox gobos. But after you get this kit, if the mag mod Gobos are the same size, I don’t see why it wouldn’t fit.

Will the S30 fixture turn on automatically after a power failure? (IE If powered on and then the cable is unplugged, will it turn on when reconnected?) If not, Does anyone have a recommendation for a fixture similar (focusable, lens, lightweight, reasonable cost, build quality) ?

I don’t remember if it does or if it does not turn off after a power failure. Next time I use the S-30, I’ll let you know. My guess is, it will NOT power back on since its power button is a moment power type. MOST lights have this type of power switch “press and hold type”. Only Analog “click-rotary” power buttons will have the ability to power on when power is restored.

What kind of lens i can use for jewellery shooting as very small spot?

100mm macro. This lens allows both, macro purposes and using as a telephoto. You need a MACRO lens, wether you’re shooting a bride’s ring or a commercial catalog.

@@khingminn the SAFEST STORE to buy lenses is BH photo. I’d get from them if I were you. You’ll have ZERO risk of getting a fake or refurbished lens.
