I still don't get all of the hate for this movie. People seem to forget that "Gojira" (1954) was directly inspired by "The Beast from 20,000 Fathoms" (1953). The outline for the original Godzilla's script was titled, "The Big Monster from 20,000 Miles Beneath the Sea." Godzilla (1998) features a monster more in keeping with what directly inspired Gojira

Many thanks for this Hugo! From someone who wore out his Godzilla tape by watching it too many times as a kid and now works in vfx, this was an absolute treat. Also nice to see how fondly you and Ian look back on the film.

Thanks Hugo. These days I was revisiting Jurassic park VFX especially the 2nd one and it's incredibly good. Completely forget about Godzilla and your video reminds me to watch it again. Didn't watch the podcast yet, I am sure it will be great. Thanks for it.

39:17 I was one of those 8 year old boys. I had like a 2 foot godzilla, it make the noise. It was cool.

@@HugosDesk If you have access to guests I'm sure it would be amazing! It feels like a different type of content. When it's just you and Ian it feels like both your geekiness and personal interests come out a lot! It's very entertaining hahah! With guests it feels like both of you are in the process of learning about the subject. It's really valuable information as I feel I can think along with the questions you're asking. Either way, I'm watching! hahah
