Those kids in the bus were really stupid. If I was in there I would immediately try and get out but apparently they’re IQ went to -1 because there is no damn way a bunch of kids are stupid enough to stay in there they know they’re going to die and fall off. I felt it was there for the most part in KOTM; at least, the well executed choreography demonstrating the creatures power. The issue was when they had, for conveyance, shift from a street level perspective that demonstrates the scale of things & the obscured lighting & intense reveals to wider shots capable of showing monster on monster violence. GvK was *completely* devoid of this, almost exclusively favoring aerial shots of the monsters themselves. I do feel they all have their own unique traits that each of them in themselves lack

@@thomabow8949 Now that I think about it, I'd say you're right. Godzilla still feels at his biggest in 2014 but perhaps the only reason for that is because he's actually biggest monster in the movie. The shots of the monsters in KotM were really quite impressive now that I look back at it. Perhaps the only thing KotM lacks compared to 2014 is an at least bearable human plot lol. I generally like GvK, but damn you hit the nail on the head. It was 100% full visibility all the time. The big cities they fought in look more like playgrounds, and the monsters also move so much faster than the previous movies, lessening that feeling of immense weight.

Basically every movie that includes mass destruction of a city, and just any place where humans are gathered in masses, since well, pretty sure in all those buildings you also got some infants and kids aswell ~

Well if they didn't know that Godzilla was coming they had to have known that something was up since both sides of the bridge ended up barricaded. The military had tanks on the bridge and the Navy was down below. Of course it's not easy to get away. Since the military knew that Godzilla was on the way they should have stopped people from crossing long before Godzilla got remotely close to it. The fact that people were still on the bridge with Goji right there means that the military failed to act, thus at least keeping up with the Godzilla tradition of the military being in the way and causing needless death and destruction while ironically trying (and failing) to prevent it.@@thegargantua12

That scene used to be one of my favorite scenes in 2014, but uuuh, yeah, awkward now that I know a school bus full of kids fell of the bridge. I didn’t think they would go that far.

If you can look closer at the movements of Godzilla (especially the part where he swipes the bridge), you will notice that these two buses are on two different sides of the bridge. The one with the black driver managed to escape. The one where the Japanese lady was on didn't.

The bus driver in 2014 was a damn hero. Had he not run through the military blockade, he and the kids would have suffered the same fate. In the movie, it was kind of a feel good moment of a character deciding to get it together and act to get him and the children out of harm (and also avoid giving the movie a higher rating for killing kids). However, the show went the darker route of showing what happened to all the others that didn't react the same way. Kinda changes your perspective now, when you re-watch the movie and get to that scene.

Godzilla has no reason to, and this fall in line with how a creature of a large size would exert or waste energy. If its not worth his time. Also by King of the Monsters and Kong vs Godzilla it becomes very apparent that humanity and Godzilla have a very interesting history with each other. Godzilla remembers when humanity built civilization and worshiped him.

It's honestly just a case of unfortunate circumstances. Yeah, Big G would have just gone under the bridge and it'd be like he wasn't even there, had the army not intervened. But at the same time, in the army's defense, if you see a giant fucking lizard in the water, approaching a populated area, when earlier you probably heard the reports of giant monsters attacking people, you don't take any chances to wait and see if this new guy is on our side or not. You take aim and fire. Now of course if Monarch knew about Godzilla already and this was all orchestrated by them so they can try and capture him or take DNA samples, then yeah, fuck them.

Which is why we got to see Mothra, the most benevolent kaiju and Godzilla’s symbiotic partner, Rodan, the neutral rogue pterosaur-like kaiju whose alliances/loyalties are usually ambiguous, and King Ghidorah, the extraterrestrial three-headed dragon and Godzilla’s archenemy who is truly evil and is very malevolent, egotistical, ruthless, sadistic, and merciless. I mean don’t get me wrong, the 2014 Godzilla film was amazing and Godzilla’s design in the film was unique and realistic, but you don’t find an atomic breath-breathing 393ft reptilian-like creature like Godzilla, parasitic creatures like the MUTOs, or a giant bipedal ape like Kong in a real world. Even though I see that each designs for the titans, even the Godzilla’s current look since King of the Monsters, has its point back to a sense of realism that make each creature look like something that nature could’ve created.

yes FINALLY. Found someone who thinks the same as i do. Pre GvK the monster verse felt scary. I haven't watched KSI yet sadly, but i did watch the other 3. G2014 showed how scary and dark a world with monsters could be. KOTM showed the ancient mythology of these monsters, and if these monsters existed, the whole world would be different and not pleasant from a human pov. KOTM showed how puny humanity is compared to these 100m tall monsters. GvK took away from the seriousness and made it a fun rollercoaster which is just dumb. Ruins the whole MV moving forward. The MV was serious, GvK felt like an fun action movie which in many ways doesn't make sense. I mean come on, emailing energy? lol

And Apex is just the Monsterverse's anti Stark Industries lmao

If you check the real depth of San Francisco Bay it is over 300ft deep in places, which means Godzilla realistically should be able to swim in the bay. Especially under the bridge. But Monsterverse wanted spectacle, so now we get parallel universe San Francisco Bay that's 50ft deep...

In the scene in the show, he takes a while to break through the bridge and he uses the wrong hand to grab the suspension wires. It’s not a big retcon, but it is an error in continuity

The only difference is that Godzilla just slowly passes through the bridge and then sits there for like 2 minutes roaring and throwing things around before moving on.
