CORRECTION USER ERROR 🤦🏽‍♂️- The issue was from my end, which I was able to fix the Samsung Q990b. As mentioned by one of my viewers, to get Dolby Atmos on Netflix you have to change the audio to Japanese. I was able to confirm this. English audio is in 5.1 I did watch the movie again with the Japanese Dolby Atmos audio on Netflix and I found it to be the same as the AppleTV. However, there is a big visual improvement on AppleTV compared to Netflix.

@@gonzoret I haven't seen the B&W version, so I can only speak on the colored version, and it looks very good. Especially when Godzilla is using his atomic ray powers.

The Netflix version will hold me over until physical media release. Don’t want to buy it off Apple TV knowing I’ll buy the 4K disc when released.

@@HeyEddie yes the version thru the Apple TV store is 4k but still prefer the disk since the video and audio still trump the digital version. Plus a lot of times you get a code for the digital version included with purchase of the disc

I have a 4K Blu-ray with English subs on the way. Yeah! It’s probably not an official Bluray, it’s in Dolby atmos and Vision though, and from Japan, so good signs.

To get the atmos to work on Netflix. U have to choose the Japanese audio track. Then use English subtitles

Some have wondered why the minus color version is only in 1080p .Even the japanese disc set has the minus color version in 1080p. Maybe the creators did that on purpose to add to the old fashioned look.

I have vpn access so i got the 15 hour head start thru hong kong netflix. Noticed an issue with english subtitles at first but that was fixed the following morning when it showed up on Canadian feed.

The 4k physical release is the only way to watch this other than in IMAX in the theater. Streaming is horrible. The picture quality is nothing like on a 4K disc and I don't know how you can even call the sound mix Dolby Atmos when steraming. Streaming doesn't have anywhere near the discreet quality sound as physical media.......

Actually Netflix version has Dolby atmos you need to change it in the setting.

My mistake vudu doesn’t say dolby vision just 4k uhd so it’s probably hdr10 like itunes.

On my Sony projector using Netflix I can see detail galore. Fine hairs, pores on the face, and unbelievable sharpness on Godzilla. I'm sure Apple is decent, but nothing coming through Apple or Netflix can compare to the physical copy.

I guess if this is your only option. I'll just continue to hug my UHD instead. There are subs that are perfectly synced with the Japanese only disc that doesn't have English subs natively.

That’s why I picked up this digital release on Apple, John. I normally pass on new digital releases that costs $25-$30 and just wait for the physical release costing the same, which also includes the digital copy. I noticed this is not a Movies Anywhere title, so I’ll just redeem the digital code from the physical release on Fandango😎

Thanks for watching the video! Yes, AppleTV has 2 versions, colored in 4k and B&W is NOT in 4k. To me, The Dolby Atmos sounds the same on Netflix and AppleTV.

I’m glad I saw your review. I have a Sony OLED and was a little concerned when the movie would be in dark scenes, ie when Godzilla first appeared on the island at night and killed those guys, the night/darkness seemed cloudy. Not inky black like I thought it should be.

I just finished this on Amazon prime for $6. I believe it was in Atmos, but it’s Dolby digital plus which is lo-res, but it still sounds good. It sounded better than the theaters. I can’t wait to get the physical copy and listen to it at home in Atmos with a loud bass.

I went to the movies seeing it two times in color and two times in black and white so I'm a big dedicated Godzilla fan good movie. So I paid for the two versions off Amazon prime.... Personally Netflix should not have gotten the rights to put on for free on the same day you could purchase it. There are some movies you want to gross money. You have every right to disagree with me but there are some movies that are better and the rest each year. I wanted it to be against Oppenheimer not stupid Barbie and how they shoved it into December was stupid. And we all know they should have had at least a couple more nominations at the Oscars.

Did you watch the Netflix version on your Apple TV? Because I find that the Apple TV apple to be vastly inferior in quality to the the native tv apps. I have a Samsung 90c oled. I never use the Netflix apple tv app. It is terrible.

Apple TV tends to have the best streaming especailly if you have the apple tv device as well. Gets like double the bit-rate as netflix streams which get worse by the year.

Just watched it for the first time after 6 brutal months of waiting. I really liked it, but I don't think it's the insane masterpiece that everyone kept saying it was. The very end of the movie kind of soured it for me, and the introduction of Godzilla, along with some other parts, were really rushed. Im glad i saw it for myself and will still buy it on physical. I really want to see Minus Color!

Watched it another time yesterday, as I wanted to correct my error from the video. For me, the Dolby Atmos sounded the same on AppleTV and Netflix, however, there is definitely a visual difference between the two. Which again, AppleTV looks sharper and has more depth/detail.

Hell yeah! It's by far my favorite Godzilla movie... It's not even close. I love how menacing and terrifying Godzilla. I love the special effects and the actors were phenomenal.

@@Franksmediaandreviews Mindblowing that they made a compelling human story, great conflict without cheese, Oscar winning effects and overall stellar movie for just a tiny fraction of the crap fest "Aquaman II" or madame web, or ww84 budgets. Dont waste your the experience with watered down, Soft LFE😅. Cancelled my Netflix and gone physical media all the way. Streaming over ethernet is compressed. My blurays always sound crystal clear and LFE punches ......

I agree with you that the physical format is superior than streaming as I've mentioned that plenty of times in my videos, but I'm all about the movies first. If streaming is the only option for people to enjoy the movie, then so be it. If an individual wants to wait for the physical release to watch the movie for the first time, then that's fine too.
