Where did these attacks happen?? 😮😢 I’ve only ever heard about that stuff happening in the US so if it’s also starting to happen in the UK as well that’s really scary. I’m in AUS and it’s currently MidSumma Pride Festival so I truly hope nothing happens here. It’s never really even crossed my mind because I’ve always felt so much safety in numbers here in the bigger cities at gay events. Occasionally in regional towns we still hear about people being beaten up quite badly for being queer when they are alone and usually the victim knows the attacker personally rather than it being a stranger, and sadly like everywhere in the world the murder rate for trans women especially trans sex workers is disproportionately high compared to other less marginalised/oppressed populations but yeah I’ve never been scared about there being an attack on a gay club or pride event before as it has never happened in my state. We’ve only ever had rude protesters and even then the cops (still ACAB tho) keep them far enough away to prevent physical harm and we only have to see their shitty signs and our groups are always so much larger by the tens of thousands compared to a few dozen-few hundred at most that we rarely even hear them chanting

ohh. I get what you mean, but clothes ≠ gender. It doesn’t matter what they wear, and if they wear feminine clothes, it doesn’t mean they are she/her. While dressing as the stereotype for your pronouns may help with people assuming things, it doesn’t always feel comfortable. Plus, i think it will help since Ez is getting top surgery soon!

pronouns don't equal gender!! and gender identity and gender expression are different (identity is how you identify, expression is how you present eg clothes makeup hair mannerisms). some trans people wear the clothes and/or makeup associated with their assigned gender, some don't! it's the same as non-trans people wearing clothes associated with a different gender to theirs (such as cisgender men wearing skirts or a cisgender woman wearing traditionally masculine things). it's all to do with comfort and how it makes you feel! ez wears the clothes he feels comfortable in, and i think that's beautiful :) hope this helps!!!

I think it’s just some people still like to dress more feminine while still not feeling comfortable with She/her pronouns. I have dressed masculine but I don’t feel comfortable with He/him pronouns. I still am female presenting though.

For a second I was so shocked and then I realised you must been regional New York State not nyc city. All I can say is eventually you’ll be old enough to move or you’ll have to find / create your own local community until then. I grew up in regional Victoria Australia which had nooothing until I was like 16 and a group of 18-25 year olds who had lived here since birth all decided that needed to change and started a queer youth group and eventually a pride centre etc and now we even have our own pride March and a few queer nights at local venues and multiple drag queen events every week. So yeah if you don’t plan on moving to a big city (or honestly even if you do) you should try to find your local LGBTQIAP siblings and get together and start a community together
