@Dmetsys lol. This transmission has been stellar since it came out in 17'. A few issues during the first year, but overall it has been golden. Gm has the exact transmission in their vehicles. It was a joint venture between the two companies. Ford and Gm has this transmission in many, many different vehicles.

While I have seen some people complaining about all the off road tech being added taking the fun out of off-roading, they don't consider the fact that you don't HAVE to use it all. That and as far as I'm concerned, it it making off-roading way more accessable to folks that otherwise wouldn't have done it and will feed more money into the off road companies that make the accessories for the "hard core off-roaders".

I compared the articulation of TTB front end on my Bronco II, with the IFS on the new Bronco. The modified TTB on the B2 articulates more in extreme situations, to the point where I needed limiting straps. And the ride is still decent on washboard compared to the live axel in the Jeep. The one thing I don't like about the TTB, is how low the pumpkins sits. Great video guys, but for the cost in CDN dollars, I'm glad I live in the states. If it weren't for Biden, it would be even better. :)

Everything you can get except Leather-Trimmed, power seats for $2200, and the Hard Top for $700, which would make it $60,765 US... Sorry, Canada.

Being a large, heavy, IFS vehicle, how did they manage to get such low payload numbers? Effectively, with no towing, you can get four people and their backpacks in there and that's it. If you tow the max, you can put 2.5 people in there with no additional cargo. So it seems that you could maybe road trip 2 people and their cargo in this version. It also makes it virtually impossible to use as an 'overlanding' vehicle, with rear kitchen/draw setups and rooftop tent/rack/awning, secondary power and all the rest. I've no skin in the game as these will likely never make it to OZ, but very curious how this happens?
@ALMX5DP
@ALMX5DP 3 жыл бұрын
I think it’s precisely because they are large, heavy and have an IFS that their payloads are so low (along with primary focus for off-roading). Very similar to the figures for Wrangler Rubicon Unlimiteds, Ford Raptors or even something like a solid axle Ram Power Wagon.

I love my 2019 JLUR. But damn, you cannot complain much about this Bronco. The on-road driving seems to be the edge over, as they are right, you always have to have that extra degree of caution every time you hit the highway with a wrangler. But that COST omg. My JLUR start was 65k. I bought a heavily modded dealership project with lift, improved suspension, larger tires and more, and it cost me 77k. That cost for the loaded Badlands Sasquatch package kills it ouch. The Rubis can always handle more off road. But 99% of owners will never take them that far (I do), and the Bronco, aside from the wheel lifts, will do all of that. Some other content creators have already done the Rubicon Trail with the Badlands version they modded to have 37s. Still, competition is good. And with this Ford, it looks GREAT actually.

Those horsepower and torque numbers are on premium. If you use standard you get 10 less of each approximately.

great review content as always with you two. chevy really missed an opportunity with the blazer, could've had an awesome battle between bronco/jeep/blazer but it looks like GM doesn't want to commit to a raptor or bronco competitor, most off road thing they got is the bison.

The original Blazer was a full size truck more for road use, the original Bronco was a compact off road vehicle. So both are following their roots. Blazer was eventually re named Tahoe, and the S10 Blazer was the compact suv. They eventually dropped the S10 name and simply called it the Blazer. Bronco went full size in the late 70's and Bronco 2 became the compact version soon to be replaced by the Explorer and 2 door Explorer sport.

I'm in the market for a new offroader but $74k cdn, dang. Looks like I'm heading to the nearest city in search of a used mall-crawling Wrangler.

It looks to be a fun car but I doubt people who can afford 75k tag price and 17mpg gas expense, would go offroading that much 🤷 Nice Canadian review 👍

as an old school avid off roader I find all vehicles with electronic terrain controls settings redundant & would never buy such, they are for rookies

Gosh...I'm depressed now: I'm stuck with a Jeep Gladiator Rubicon. :-( Regardless, I'll "Keep Calm and Carry On" anyway... ;-) Seriously though, I needed more towing-capacity so neither the Wrangler or Bronco would do...it had to be a mid-size TRUCK instead (but, a serious 4x4/off-road capable truck, not garden-variety trucks like the Ranger, Canyon, Colorado (non-ZR2), etc). -- BR

Notice the tires, the Goodyear Territory. The Wrangler name is not present on the tires on a bronco.
