Looks like that is going to serve your needs and is certainly a required tool for the kind of work you do. Also admire the attachment you have to the older Stihl. I have my grandfather's old toolbox and am deeply attached to it as well because of the fond memories working with him when he came out to the farm in the afternoons to help out.

I've been using ECHO products for about 30 years. When bought from a certified ECHO dealer and used as medium-duty tools, they have served me well. That's not to say that Huskys and Stihls (and whatever else) are not fine tools. Cheers!

Seems like plenty of power! Hope it serves you well for many, many years! I chuckled when you mentioned sentimental attachment to your uncle’s saw - I almost cried the day my dad sold his old saw - it was older than I was and I have fond memories of cold days in the bush with him. He always says I was 12 years old before I knew my name wasn’t Get Wood!

Cool new chainsaw! Husky's and Stihl seem to always be the preferred saws.

Ive had a Stihl MS250 for years and its a great little saw. These days I use my Stihl 462 most of the time. Being able to run a 32" bar on a 7hp saw is awesome.

Stihl cuts up my firewood never fails for many years. With my at the time 89 year old father in law. He is now 95 and can probably out work me today. Great video!

I realy like the pferd cs-x jig for sharpening (i think there are versions of it from stihl too). It files the tooth and the raker at the same time.

Husky makes a quality product. However, I use an Echo CS590 with 20” bar and am very happy with it. I hope to put a 24” bar on it eventually so I don’t have to bend over as much when cutting logs

Run saws for over 45 years. 2nd year turner. When one sharpens after usage and is sharper than new chain then one has learned how to sharpen chain. The rakers are very important part of chain. If taken down to much saw is too hungry, not enough it will hardly cut even if cutters were sharpened correctly. Use the 50:1 husky mix. I have not greased tip of bars in over 40 years with no problems. Keep out of dirt, rocks and see if there is saw gas available without ethanol in it. As friend says,." It is the nut behind the trigger that matters"

I use a couple Stihl saws, an MS391 and an MS 181c. Mainly because of a strong local dealer in our small town. But for my next saw I’m going to try an Ego battery electric. I like the interchangeability of their batteries and in fact bought one thinking I could use it replace an e-bike battery. That project was a success so now I am just waiting for their new line of tools to all become available and then I’ll choose one. Then that battery can do double duty.

Congratulations on the new saw. After going through a Craftsman and Poulan saws I’m a Stihl man now for the last 30+ years. Currently have a Stihl MS271 Farm Boss and a MSA 200 (battery powered) [very quite and powerful for after dark cutting hint-hint | hope your neighbors didn’t mind the demo run up 😁]. I was also gifted a GTA 26 battery powered branch trimmer, which surprised me on it power and how useful it is. So I joy your new saw, I hope it lives up to your expectations and helps produce a lot of blanks for you to utilize to make turning videos. Cheers, Tom

Been running Husky saws for about 18 years. I've purchased 3 over the years and never had a bad one. They all still run although I did sell one of them to a neighbor. I did run Stihl prior to that (their O44 was one hell of a saw for its time, back in the day) but then the local Stihl dealer closed up shop so I went over to Husky. Never regretted it. I've found that a 16 inch (400mm)bar length is adequate for probably 90% of the timber I get into, including the annual two cords of firewood. I do have a longer bar, but rarely use it. I don't know exactly what kind of air filter the latest Husky models use, but on mine it's a very simple screen made of tough plastic of some kind. Almost nylon feeling. Very effective, but a long day of cutting in the woods, especially when cutting dry blowdowns for firewood, can really clog them up enough to where the engine starves for air, and they're not real easy to clean properly without compressed air, so carrying a spare filter in the tool bag is almost a must. As you mentioned the drive sprocket (should be a replaceable steel ring) is mounted inboard of the clutch (not outboard like the Stihls) so that does make it a bit of a pain in the ass to change out when it gets worn down. You have to lock the engine through the spark plug hole to unscrew the clutch housing. Totally doable, but I did prefer the Stihl arrangement for ease of service.

Awesome chainsaws, Tomislav. Both very good brands. 👍 I have a Husqvarna 455 Rancher and I am very happy with it. 😊😊 I am not good at sharpening, though. 😞

Ahh, that new chainsaw smell! I've had Stihl, Echo, Husqvarna, Dolmar/Makita, mostly. Also a sampling of Solo, Pioneer, Redmax, Green Machine, Homelite, Poulan, and one monster of a Mall from 1957. From about 25 to 121ccs. Most of these companies have made nice saws. All of them have also made dogs. Possible exception: Echo. Hardly ever a winner in the raw power division, and maybe not as rugged as the commercial big boys, but they just start and run consistently. I have 3 Echo arborist saws. Even a battery model. Your Husqvarna will probably run better and longer than its American equivalent. We have to put up with EPA regulations and saws for this market are de-tuned to run leaner and produce less pollution. Thus less power and shorter engine life. The saws _can_ be modified for much better performance and better cylinder life, but this is a pain and probably illegal. So a lot of us hold on to older models. 200€ serms steep for a repair, but Stihl is very proprietary with their parts and they are pricey. This is one advantage of owning a Husqvarna. More places to get parts, but they've gotten expensive in recent years as well. The carburetor (if this is the culprit on the Stihl) is probably a Zama, made in China. I've ordered such directly from the factory at maybe a fifth of the cost. Even had "Stihl" cast onto it. Worked great as they should since they're oem. Took a while for shipping; well worth it. When you do get the 250 going, and if one of your saws is going to sit in reserve, then I would store the reserve saw dry. When ready to store, pour the fuel out and let the saw idle until it runs dry. This keeps the fuel from going bad and gumming up the carburetor and this will ensure that the saw will be ready for work when you need it. Congrats on your new machine! And this excellent video _is_ a woodturning video. We need to get stuff into the shop, and few of us can afford to buy prepared bowl blanks. All woodturners need to be proficient with a chainsaw. Or have a close friend who is such.
