I think the space craft would be more interesting, since it poses more unique problems that need to be solved, particularly with the stipulations that your main craft is only allowed to reenter the atmosphere to go through portals and you aren't allowed to use third person camera for surface level scouting. That way you'll have to do things like employ autonomous drones to gather and transport resources or to provide eyes on the ground. A spaced base run would also be more divergent from your normal tactics and it might offer the opportunity to use equipment you normally ignore, like warp systems or huge missiles.

what i really want to see is a spacecraft that does an initial strike from orbit, but then goes down for a series of gun runs before climbing back to orbit

A really cool system would be to use pistons to get your collectors above the surface while you stay under, Para-collectors!

I think we've seen a few sub/partially submerging craft over the years so going for a space focus would be nice (think death lasers from space type theme), perhaps you could switch focus as you go along ei start with subs and once you feel comfortable(resource wise) go for space.

You know what? I'm very ok with the cheddar. Just try to look at everything through either the submarine or taking a sneakpeak via attaching your camera to some ordinance. That way the fighting becomes more of a puzzle.

What would be really fun is a craft that sticks in space until combat, then dives underwater and decimates from below. Like a submarine shaped massive missile diving onto its enemy’s from the heights, eating at them from the depths……

Having a laser based spaceship would be pretty interesting. It would be a challenge to balance size and mobility, as the lasers would need to be big enough that they reach and can do damage, but small enough that the craft can move and go through the portals when needed.

I love the idea of a sub playthrough. Maybe a sub that can also surface and be a pseudo-battleship with a coupe small advanced canons for fast airborne enemies.

I think a sub would be cooler you can just sit down below and shred your enemies from the dark abyss :D

I kinda like the idea of you just using a sub, and basically remaking your missiles as is necessary for whatever enemy you are dealing with. With a separate bank of manual launchers for each size (and some automated anti-torp torps and such)

Honestly, Lathrix, while I love the sub play, I think it'd be a lot more fun to see a spacecraft playthrough of FtD Adventure Mode, namely because (as you mentioned) it'd be a bit more logistically difficult to do (making it more fun for us viewers to watch you puzzle it out), but also because you kinda did subs in the _last_ Adventure Mode playthrough (or at least _one_ of the previous ones), so this would be a bit more unique. With that said, I'm just happy to see this coming back because I enjoy it so much, so just have fun with whichever option you choose and I'll be fine lmao

Absolutely love the FTD series. I love ship play, especially those anti depth mines. Though something I'd love to see in the future is you build a battleship with like 4-6 large main 3 barrel cannons barrel

More fun with FtD, I missed these. Stick with the sub and add a proper periscope. That way you can rely less on third-person and make things a little more immersive. You can mount a camera on a telescoping pole in FtD, right?

Really a sub and a spaceship are very similar but you seemed to like the idea of space better. imo I think you should make what makes you happy cause it will make you want to play more hence more content. You can just do a cheese run. They are fun to watch as long as you dont make every series cheese (which you definitely never really do) So you can see how effective a mine sub you can make. See how undetected you can go and how many kills you can get as easily as possible.

I agree that space would be interesting and something we haven't seen much of. On the other hand, a ramming submarine which lines up under the enemy and full sends straight through their bottom like a metal flying fish would be mega cool.

I'd really like to see a space craft because all the issues with moving through portal and going back and forth from space to atmosphere sounds like it'll be really interesting to watch you come up with solutions to that.

Both sub and space craft. The versatility of being able to hide under deep sea to reduce laser damage/ to going high above clouds to avoid anti-sub weapons

Mines are good fun on a sub, your plenty deep to avoid a lot, and once you get the resources to coat your sub and add a decoy it'll be a challenge for anything to hit you until later. If your not sure on your camera you could always add a cheap vtol to the back of your sub to act as a spotter, youve made plenty of cheap drones over the year. Although it will be a target and the wireless will make you an easier target as well.

FINALLY! Some From the Depths! I've been eargerly waiting for Lathrix to make another FtD video! Personally I'd rather see a space ship, cuz your last space ship design was crazy good, both in looks and deadliness. I was pleasantly surprised by how good it was, and my expectations were high, so don't take offense at that statement.

Yes, crafty adventures! I have two ideas for your vehicle design whihch I think would be cool, and possibly add a small amount of "balance" to the craftyness. The first idea is to build your main vehicle with the intent that you can move around, access most areas of it. This is more aesthetic design, but making room for your character takes resources and volume away from other features such as glorious armor and weapons and engines. Plus, it can look cool, and you can make different command chairs to hide in different parts of the ship for different battles. Or whenever you felt like sitting in a new chair. The second idea is to have a focus on minions, small buddy craft! Each one being unique to each other, these little buddies can operate under AI control or be manually piloted. They would have unique weapons (a cannon buddy, a laser buddy, a railgun buddy... There are options here!) and the buddies would be your primary way to fight the enemy, while the mothership (mother-submarine? Space Station?) has fewer weapons but can support the buddies.

That's some fine quality cheese there.

The end goal should be a space submarine. Something that could launch out of water like the Sea Dragon rocket concept (And in that size range)

As someone fairly nee to FtD… I really wish I could play with Lathrix, if only to do two things: 1) Learn from him about AIs and basic tips and tricks. 2) Show him my Deep Sea Treader Tanks (Inspired by him!) to see how he would make them more compact, sink better, and stuff like that, etc. But hey, let’s watch this and maybe I learn something! Woohoo!

Whatever makes you happiest will be the best. On a side note. I have a way to control altitude with breadboards so that you can make adjustments on the fly instead of having a few set altitudes controlled by ACBs. If you are interested.

Two things for seeing resource zones: piston and camera based periscope, and turning the water transparency up.

One thing you could do for checking above the water without zooming out is to build a Periscope. Put a camera on a turret block on an extending pole bit. Hit the switch to extend the pole, use the camera console to turn the camera turret.

I'd be a bit more interested in spacecraft, seeing as we've already seen a bit of submarines in the adventure mode recently. But honestly just go with what you're vibin with more :D

It'd be interesting (and terrifying) if you get harpoons on the top of your craft and then drag down enemy craft to the water. If possible, put them inside some sort of mouth that can chew on them using spin blocks and rams. Normal submarine has the entire top of it open up to grab a ship and devour. If not, a gigantic space beam seems fun.

Ahh yes, another series where Lathrix will blow my best ship designs out of the water within 5 minutes.
