I've driven past little towns on road trips with little gas left and spent 15 minutes driving out of the way to the nearest station only to find it closed. The feeling when you need gas quick and everything is shut is horrible. Ive also been on empty and arrived at a station just as it was closing and the guy said, sorry pumps are off, nothing I can do... Fortunately I was able to make it to the next town with stations that had civilized hours, I must have had drops of gas left. Im all for pumps being permanently on 100%. Paying with card before it'll pump when there are no attendants is definitely fair & appreciated.

Snall towns are big on personal responsibilty. Its your own responibility to make sure you get gas or food when the places are open, it is not the bussinesses job to cater to a lack of personal responibility. I grew up in Chicago and have lived in a small town for the last 7 years and the biggest difference is, on average in the small town people take care of their own lives, but in the city, people want others to take care of their life for them and expect as much.

Delivering pizza is (mostly) an ass job. You only actually deliver maybe 20% of the time. The rest of your shift your stock on prep work or dishwashing duty. Plus, while the smell of pizza is great, having your car ALWAYS smell gets to you eventually. Having said that, the money isn't bad. You'll typically make normal minimum wage but also get tips like a server, plus something like an extra $1-$2 per delivery to cover the cost of gas and car maintenance. If you have an old but reliable vehicle, most of that extra money just goes right into your pocket instead of your car. Every summer I worked at a factory full-time making $10 an hour, the summer after college I delivered pizzas part-time at minimum wage, and I still made more per week than I did working that factory job.
