We, citizens of Russia, strongly advise against going to such expensive places to eat, even by St. Petersburg standards. There are many cheaper places where you can eat no worse, and even better.

Why do you keep going to these dumb tourist trap restaurants with $38 meals?! There are so many places with food that's just as good if not better that are twice as cheap! A good rule of thumb is, if you see matryoshkas and other traditional touristy stuff => skidaddle out of there.

I am right there. Lucky you. Do prepare yourself. Read. And learn the Cyrillic script with yt. This city is overwhelming. 2 days I was in shock. It seems you are in some Italian city. Architecture, canals, etc. But you're not. Distances are enormous. Nothing is compact. Everything is grandiose, monumental. Really sad to have to leave soon. Visa restrictions. At least I can get an evisa.

@@classics39 who knows. The guy darted off to Smolenskaya from Kievskaya on foot uphill with luggage and stuff, when he first came to Moscow, instead of taking the metro right there on Kievskaya, something tells me he was pretty stressed) or that it was cunningly scripted beforehand))

@@galinakazakova3737 Well, he had no money. RUB. And he didn't know whether he could change in time before the money exchange places close at 9 p.m. So that's definitely not a good feeling. Don't know the distance he walked, but he is a strong guy. Sometimes it's more straightforward to walk instead of getting lost in the bowels of a metro system, you don't know.

@@classics39 nope, he had just exchanged the roubles right there in Evropeyskiy or somewhere else in Kievskaya square and then went off to Smolenskaya, which is not the nicest walk, about 1 km uphill. He was either stressed or he went that way to take pretty pictures of the Moscow river, which would be quite strategic, but also exhausting. Either way, I thought we were discussing whether his stress was clickbait and an act or not, and I suggested another incongruity supporting both possibilities))

Их меню на сайте: - Форшмак из сельди 550р - Говядина по-строгановки с картофелем 1190р - 2 шота он не сказал каких, но сказал, что почти 8$, значит шоты по 350р 550+1190+350+350=2440 Чуть больше 27$, но никак не 38... Вполне возможно, кстати, что он просто ошибся и написал 38$ вместо 28$

A few years back I visited Saint Petersburg in June too , my first day there was amazing and it was the longest day of the year , basically it was no night ! Just day light all the way … an experience I will never forget. Saint Petersburg is just a beautiful City , better than Paris or London …

@@user-je5ri6rd7x нет в Питере никакого полярного дня, не придумывайте. Полярный день/ночь возможен только на крайнем севере, где-нибудь в Мурманске. А в Питере всего лишь белые ночи в середине июня, да и то не особо «белые». Это просто местный туристический ход. Кстати в Москве например июнь тоже довольно светлый и июньский день длится намного дольше, чем например в августе.

@@kateangie6980 да что вы?) Вообще-то есть - и полярный день, и полярная ночь. У меня треть жизни в Питере прошла, знаю, о чем говорю. Возможно, это не так мощно как в Мурманске - но имеет место быть. Кстати, в Москве "светлого июня" не припомню - говорю вам как москвичка.

@@user-je5ri6rd7x 😅 нет в Питере никакого полярного дня и ночи, почитайте хотя бы что это такое вообще и где это действительно присутствует. Это возможно только за полярным кругом, далеко на севере. В Питере же есть только белые ночи, да и то довольно слабые по сравнению с Карелией например. Я вообще всю жизнь живу здесь и знаю, о чем говорю. В Москве июнь кстати тоже очень светлый и долго не темнеет, я довольно часто там бываю и могу сравнить. Август зато намного темнее июня, впрочем как и в Петербурге. В Питере просто эти ночи как бы «белее», дольше светло.

@@kateangie6980 женщина, вы повторяетесь. У меня нет никакого желания с вами спорить, потому что я прекрасно знаю, что в середине июня в Питере фактически не заходит солнце. Как и зимой фактически не рассветает в том же декабре. Это и можно назвать полярными днем и ночью. В Москве ничего подобного не наблюдается.В Питере даже северное сияние можно увидеть.

tourists do not notice this, but the residents of St. Petersburg are ashamed of the state of the city. it is clear that we do not reach Moscow-this world capital, but we are depressed by the state of the city. Twice in a row we won't take with the governor who doesn't solve the problems of the city. we will try to solve this in the next elections and hope that SPB will blossom again

As a man who was born in SPB and lived there for 30 years - it's not clean, not very safe and not so affordable if you earn a local salary. And it could be much more beautiful if government actually gave even a single fuck about historic places' and buildings state, spending money on repairments instead of war.

As an African who studied in St. Petersburg in the 1990s, I never encountered mosquitoes during my time there. Could their presence now be due to climate change? St. Petersburg, a city brimming with unforgettable memories, has certainly evolved over the years. By the way, don't miss the Peterhof and the Hermitage-they are truly stunning!

Это связано с присутствием стоячей воды, они в ней размножаются. К примеру, если в подвальном помещении дома есть вода, то в этом месте будут комары, ну или рядом есть пруд в каком-нибудь парке. Климат тут не причём

@@user34user73 In Russia, there are many freshwater reservoirs and swamps on a vast territory, in which mosquitoes breed. The difference with humid equatorial countries is that mosquitoes concentrate during the very short Russian summer, and everything is evenly distributed at the equator throughout the year ;-) But in fact, in Russia, only when you are in the forest, you can experience discomfort from mosquitoes. Usually there are no such problems in most cities. Greetings from Siberia!

If a country wants you in prison, it can be arranged even in the so called democracy called the US. If my comment scares anyone, then they have no business travelling to Russia now, and even if 99 percent of Americans would be fine now, there is no guarantee things won't escalate. I could easily see the US navy and air force getting involved if there was a breakthrough.

Приезжайте, мы в Питере очень рады иностранцам) Раньше постоянно огромное количество туристов было, мы с другом как-то сидели на лавочке с двумя немками и читали друг другу стихи, они из Мюнхена вроде были, друг друга нихрена не понимали, но весь вечер улыбались и гуляли. А теперь почти не осталось никого из туристов, бояться ездить по-видимому, пропаганда работает, русские злые стали :(

SPB is built in the river delta, literally on top of marshlands, humidity is high, so mosquitos are always around. But those are blood-sucking mosquitos, and "big mosquito" you're referring to is probably a crane fly which is actually don't bite humans.

Привет! Жила в Новосибирске 9 лет! Сейчас живу в Петербурге уже как 8 лет, очень советую приехать сюда, хотя бы дней на 8-10. Так как после Новосибирска никакой другой город не покажется тебе таким прекрасным, как Петербург. Если ты любишь Новосибирск, то тебе будет казаться, что ты приехала в родной город и в тоже время на другую планету. Это так воодушевляет. Обожаю Новосибирск, новый шикарный аэропорт в Толмачёво вызвал у меня восхищение и новый парк с стадионом на метро Спортивная. Просто прелесть!

It's nice that you visited the city where I live, I hope you enjoyed everything. :) Russia is very different, try to go to Kazan [the city of Tatars], Grozny [the city of Nokhchiy] and Derbent [the most ancient city of Dagestanis]. You'd be surprised how different and multinational Russia is. If you have the opportunity, visit Vladivostok and Irkutsk [this is the nearest city to Lake Baikal]. I'm sure you appreciated the activity on your channel, the Russians are very happy to have foreign guests!!!

Also!!! Булочные Вольчека (Volchek's pastries) are very cheap and tasty, and have a lot of local pastry. It's really easy to get fat with them! I usually take pastries there in a bulk when I go back to Moscow!

There are so many amazing places worth visiting in Saint Petersburg but here’s just a few to get you started. 1. Terassa (lunch) especially when it’s a warm day. Sit out on the deck and soak it all in. 2. Singer House (famous building on Nevsky Prospekt) there’s a cute little cafe on 1st or 2nd floor overlooking Kazan Cathedral. Awesome for breakfast or brunch 3. Eliseev - experience a breakfast here. Very impressive interior and confectionary. 4. There’s a very interesting restaurant in Ulitsa Marata, just before Hotel Martin. It has a pink and white door called “My Zhe Na Ty” 5. Have to do drinks at most bars in Rubinstein Road. 6. Go to the rooftop of Saint Isaac’s Cathedral (if you’re experiencing white nights) go around midnight and wait for the palace bridge to open up. 7. On another night, experience the opening of the palace bridge with the rest of the crowd gathered outside the Hermitage Museum. 8. Lastly but a big must. You have to visit The Winter Palace, Summer Palace and Per Hof. Please visit all 3, you won’t be sorry.

Дружище, пока ты в Питере - зайди в тамошнюю "Столовую №1". Самое народное место, а не кабаки с бефстрогановым за 3 косаря. Наливок там, правда, нет, но есть чудесное крымское винишко рублей по 150 за бокал. Если же более интересен формат кафе/ресторан - иди в "Токио Сити" - тоже чек весьма гуманный. А еще есть питерские специалитеты - пышки, рассольник и корюшка. А вообще Питер пробил себе звание "Кулинарной столицы России", даже патент у них есть на это звание.

Hello Sly! I highly recommended following route: from a metro station Begovaya to the 300th century park and walking through the park to Yakhteniy bridge, it's way to Zenit stadium. In the middle of the bridge you can see amazing views, trust me). So, from the stadium you can go to the Victory's park, some part of this park is a amusement park. I guess whole route get mm 3-4km, you don't regret).

Honestly? I didnt love that park that much as a tourist, it was cool, but nothing really much happening and you could tell that area was less off than the rest of the city. Id say if he's got time sure go there one morning and check it out, but otherwise id tell him to go see the other things available, as there's ALOT to see but not too much time ie his visa ):

Absolutely! Абсолютно ! Я тоже самое "коням" рассказывал(девочке и мальчику лет по 35) перед полуфиналом кубка России 2024 по футболу, у нас в Питере в прошлом месяце мае ! Что именно с яхтенного моста лучшая точка, что-бы смотреть на Балтийское море ! Moskitos in Russia everywhere, we use special electic device to defend, plug it in and no moskitos, you can find it almost in any shop

@@Elize2085 Москиты отличие от комаров: личинки москитов развиваются во влажной почве, а не в воде. Внешне взрослые насекомые мало чем отличаются. И в английском есть различие, но ближе к латыни у них москитами называют Phlebotominae, а комаров mosquitoes.

Saint Petersburg is supposed to be the gastronomic capital of Russia. There are a lot of veeeeryyy good places to eat, but you should know where to go.

Not trying to offend you, but gastronomic capital is Moscow (9 places were given Michelin stars there). Saint Peterburg is a cultural capital (although there are quite a lot of places that are indeed good if we're talking about food).
