I was 8. 2008, especially the summer of that year, was one of the best moments of my life. My favourite Pixar movie came out that year. Hard to believe its now over 15 years old, and the animation is still very current. I also loved watching Bee Movie that summer as well, which came out in 2007. Strange as this is, I just went and watched this movie in theaters with my wife last night! Never got to see it in theaters during its original run.

Its hard to believe this was 16 years ago. 2008 still kinda feels like it wasnt that long ago even though it is now. I started high school that year 9th grade i remember

I usually never think 2008 is that old or anything special of a year, but seeing this now, yeah the film landscape really has changed. Now that I recall, there were a lot of good movies that came out in cinemas that year, I went almost every week to see something! Nowadays, I'd be hardpressed to find 3 or 4 movies worth seeing at the cinema in a whole year.

2008 was just before the superhero movies started to explode in mass popularity that took up a good chunk of blockbuster movies in the 2010s.

There was an earthquake during the showing of Dark Knight here in southern California so I'll always remember it haha. It was on 07/29/08, a magnitude 5.4 with the epicenter around 40 miles from the theater so the shaking was very noticable haha. The movie theater I used to go to shut down last year, sadly.

those touch screen ticket boxes were pretty uncommon for 2008. I remember seeing the dark knight at midnight what a great experience

That theater looked HUGE with the screen! I've gone to many AMCs back then and none close too that room. I never remember the row of seats curving every room I remember was a rectangle. Seats were perfectly straight across. 👍🏻🇺🇲

This theater was originally a Sony Theater & was the flagship theater for Loews Cineplex. It opened in 1994. It was also the first IMAX screen outside of a stand alone IMAX theater or Museum.
