There pretty much isn't a religion out there that doesn't have some form of control/cult-like behavior. A decent resource to figure out a particular group is a cult is to go by the "BITE" model by Dr. Steven Hassan. [edit, as watching this, I hear of "144,000 virgins" I am not sure where that is from but JWs and others believe 144,000 faithful will be raptured and resurrected into Heaven, this is found in Revelations. Suicide in the Bible is very no-no and it is practically a guaranteed act to get yourself into the bad place. It's weird that they'd commit to that but I've heard crazier. Basically your life is God's gift and you ending it is an affront to God's love. 144,000 is a numerological thing. Tangent: Numerology can be found in many religions of that time and before--In the Bible and contemporary beliefs of that time, there's a lot of 7s. It would be of no surprise why that is when considering one of the founding fathers was Constantine and him and his people were followers of Mithraism, an astrological-like religion that had some dabbling in numerology [Mithraists find 7 and 4 important] Comparatively to other religions, numerology and astrology has a weird way of showing up, including new 'versions' of older religious beliefs.]

A lot of people (not everyone clearly) want Indi back bc she makes the podcast better and they can't just leave Indi in the intro despite her being gone for 4 months. Me personally I've unsubbed and still come here every week hoping Indi is back but ofc she isn't. After the first month and 1/2 of Indi being gone I stopped watching bc they got boring. Also yes people camp out there but definitely not newbies or out of state people like I've been here 20+ yrs an I would never go up there even if I liked to camp it's dangerous an secluded an when it's dark in the more unpopulated areas it's pitch black it's a big ass city but it can feel incredibly secluded in the more forest areas. Like anytime I've camped even with people who do it weekly you go to a camp site the dark alone is far too dangerous to get deep in the woods an not on a site is stupidity unless you are like near pros at camping an survival.
