Good work Bobby, i do feel that is the salt of a top tier shooter, dealing with the bumps in the road but still puts out a film that looks like the day went as smooth as silk. Dam you killed that highlight! You say this wasn’t an ideal wedding but most weddings are typically like this. It’s super rare that everything goes 100% to plan. I gotta check out more of your videos. Very inspirational!

Appreciate it! Yah I mean every wedding has its quirks but this one had a little extra stress for me. Like I said in the beginning though I thought it might be a nice change of pace to show a wedding that wasn’t “perfect”

Appreciate you watching! I shoot both PP off and then just do my bet to match in post. They are pretty close in my opinion especially compared to the older cameras like the a7sii and a6500. This wedding also had some canon c200 mixed in which my second was on. Cinematch is also an option to help match cameras up a bit better

White balance for the white and the skin tones will shine. The tones of the couple and the warm light of the day do the rest! We did warm it up a little in post but in general we are close to natural.

bobby, is it a good/bad idea to interact w/competitors on social media (i.e. likes, hearts, subs) while i'm building business in their segments (e.g. weddings, music, commercial, etc.))?

I think it's generally a good idea but of course I'm sure there are scenarios where it's not beneficial. Having good relationships with competitors can be great. You can have camaraderie in an otherwise lonely business, you can pass leads around, you can learn from each other, you can have an outlet to run issues by people or ask questions, borrow gear, or find emergency backups.

I like to set up a "view of God" camera on a 7-foot high tripod in wide angle on the whole situation to cover everything on the dance floor. Then, when those curve balls happen, all I have to do is point that camera in the general direction of what's happening and it gives me time to move my other cameras and lights into position.

gosh I dont understand the crane at al when you have a gimbal. bit set up, time consuming to set up and take down to move with it. its also then in the background of other shots. I guess a lot of this is to do with where you film and the look couples expect. but so so much work

Haven’t used a crane in years but knew I’d be sending my second ahead a lot this day because of the timeline so thought “why not bust it out again and see”

you don't like filming bridal party? the people who are closest to them? maybe you dont like to but perhaps the couple would like it. nice having a 2ns shooter to run to set up audio and stuff in ceremony. but setting up a crane and those angles (not the brides face walking up the aisle is odd for me here in Ireland

I do have the brides face walking up and those angles are pretty common here. As for bridal party I don’t think there are very creative ways to capture their set poses without it looking incredibly posed or cheesy. They also show up in almost all other areas of the day. So yes, I think for video I don’t love spending a lot of time on posed bridal party pictures when I realistically need 2-3 shots
