CC Certainly worth the dig, silver and gold it's a treasure hunt. Your grandfather saved coins like I used to, I would save all kinds of random things.

Very cool. Much of my collection was passed down from my grandfather in boxes and albums. Like you I have posted some videos on how I reorganized them. Thanks for sharing.

Lol thinking its the othe way around u separate and store things the way he does but looks like ur grandfather was a huge collector and hope to pass a collection of this size to my son after I'm gone

I had an uncle from India who was a coin collector. He left me his collection before he died. I found a lot of really old silver coins of British India and Portuguese India - East India Company coins, Queen Victoria, King Edward VII, George V and George VI. He also had some really old Middle East coins of Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Burma and British East Africa coins.

@@CampbellsCoins I actually collect a wide variety of historical coins together with gold and silver bullion coins like your Eagles, Maple Leafs etc. My favourite coins are old British India coins of Queen Victoria, altins of the Ottoman Empire, and the Shah of Iran gold pahlavis. I have even old coins of the Indian princely states of various maharajas: the princely states of Gwalior, Indore, Baroda, Hyderabad and Kashmir.

@@CampbellsCoins Right now I am into collecting silver and gold coins of former Soviet Union countries. Did you know the former Soviet Union broke up into 15 countries: Estonia, Lithuania, Latvia, Ukraine, Moldova, Belarus, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan and Turkmenistan. There are some countries you will not find on a map like Republic of Transnistra, and Republic of Abkhazia which have their own currencies.

Wow! Nobody in my family is a coin collector so I wouldn’t get left anything like that. But I have gotten a 1921s Morgan dollar from my grandpa. He got it from his mother.

The best parts were finding the Carson City Dollars and the gold Indian head pieces.

Lol, it is a time capsule of sorts. If I didn't have them, I wouldn't know what my grandfather was doing, unless I looked up specifics for each year. Thank you!
