JJ Richards runs a tight ship over in the City of Gold Coast contract. One of a few large contracts they have over in Queensland. Since the Gold Coast is one of Australias biggest tourist attractions, it requires a 24/7 non stop running of waste collection to keep up with demand.
On a Friday morning last year whilst on holidays in the Gold Coast, I was woken up to the sound of Euro5 Accos getting driven foot flat to the floor with their distinctive PTO sound waking up all of Broadbeach at 5:30am. I went for a walk and was greeted with a few front lifts that were running rings around me taking out all the busy parts of Broadbeach. I settled with one of the Garbage ones that was servicing a lane way collecting commercial business bins and also bins from a hotel. An hour later, the Recycle Front Lift appeared out of no where servicing a couple of the apartment complexes in the area.
I chatted to the two drivers and they told me they don't stop all day, they pretty much have one pace and that's to get the stuff off the road. I've never seen such fast paced front lift action before. I was more happy to just sit there watch them fly around emptying the bins rather than getting videos. It's like you're doing a side loader run but in a front lift lol. JJ Richards did re win the Gold Coast contract and I'm sure it will be an end of an era when all these Euro5 Accos get retired soon.
