What an eye opener. I've a new appreciation for what it truly means to inlay. Had it in my head that it would be as simple as melting/soldering gold into a crevice, when in fact I was so wrong. Thanks for the video.

I was always curious about how this was done. I don’t engrave, but I’ve always found it interesting and always a great addition to a firearm. I’ve had the pleasure of working on some European rifles and shotguns that were engraved and always marveled at the skill involved in the fine embellishments on them. Also, I arrived here from Alec Steele’s channel.

Came here from Alec Steele's video. Show me what you got, Mr. Zuelke! EDIT: and you do not disappoint! Very informative. Only critique or more of a suggestion would be: Is it possible to change the camera from your side to being opposite to you? Then it would be filming towards you and your hands wouldn't get in the way. Other than that, the camera was at a perfect distance and well focused, and the audio was clean and crisp, so a fantastic start to your channel!

His & Hers just be aware that it’s a long term learning process that requires a fair amount of shop setup. Kind of like me taking up being a machinist as a hobby. Much like being a machinist, historically hand engraving has never been a hobby activity. The learning curve is long and steep. Just depends on what you want to get out of it. I usually suggest taking a class before making any large investment in tools.
