Wow...I just realised that when I started my apprenticeship as a Toolmaker in 1973, we learned how to sharpen cutters on a Tool & Cutter grinder. A wonderful instrument for making or sharpening carbide cylinders into Pantograph cutters, or specifically shaped ends to chisel out aluminium profiles that couldn't be quickly cut by machine. We used diamond impregnated cup wheels. One old but very experienced Master Toolmaker spent most days just sharpening cutters of varying sizes. Your process still teaches how to have a steady hand doing dissimilar actions. Well done. M

A handiece holding the wheel could be secured in a bench vice. Then speed in rpm could be adjusted to desired speed. This way can prevent undue lethargy on hand(s).

Большой и единственный минус это то, что после скола придётся заново формировать,а так хорошая и удобная форма для калилграфии. Благодарю за видео!

It does take time to repolish, but it’s worth it. A good polished cobra graver can do things other gravers cannot.
