Like many of us, mere mortals, Usain Bolt has a dream of playing football at the highest level. Let’s admit it…we all got lost in our day-dreams of playing for our favorite clubs, and Usain Bolt was no different. Usain Bolt grew up supporting Manchester United.
But unlike us mere mortals, Usain Bolt was an accomplished athlete…an OLYMPIAN. The FASTEST MAN ALIVE!!! At 6 foot 5, Usain Bolt is tall, well-built, and has an ELITE mindset that made him the best athlete in his craft. If there’s one guy, who could transition to football, it would be Usain Bolt, wouldn’t it?
Long story long, despite the number of high-profile trials, it just never worked out for Usain Bolt in football. Not at Manchester United, not at Borussia Dortmund, not even at Central Coast Mariners in Australian A-League.
But the question is…why did it not work out for Usain Bolt as a footballer? Why did Usain Bolt fail as a footballer?

I am a huge A-League fan as well and I watch every Sydney FC game and know all the players. I remember this time very well when the Mariners tried to sign him. They were in an era of implosion and had been finishing at the bottom of the league for the last few seasons. Usain tried out, but was lost and clearly out of his league. He had the first touch of a donkey. Years after he tried blaming the club but he was no where near good enough. The Mariners have since improved a lot and turned it around being one of the cheapest and youngest teams, to A-League champions. As a Sydney fan it’s been impressive to see their turnaround. I wish foreigners would have more respect for the league because it gets better every year.

Heyyyy dude. My favorite Chelsea fan !!! Good to see you again. I think Bolt tried the A-League because he massively underestimated it. Let's not forget, we've had football greats like Alessandro Del Piero, Fowler among many others play in A-League. Always good seeing you here, dude. :))

@@FootballDrawn Del Piero playing at my Sydney FC was such a peak era. He did well when he captained us for 2 years and he scored a memorable free kick vs Newcastle Jets on debut and and hattrick in a 6-0 win over Wellington Phoenix. Ironically though after he left we improved and we became the strongest team the league had ever seen. 16/17 we were one game off doing an invincible season. Good times then

Football drawn? You're alive? I can't believe this, someone said you was dead! Great to have you back dude! Hadn't really seen any footage of him playing before, shame it didn't work out but hard to disagree with Keogh. I reckon had Bolt tried rugby he'd have been a beast at it.

@@FootballDrawn great to have you back though! Football isn’t a sport one can take too quickly. Some like rugby, darts, you can pick up the skills quickly, but to make it in football you need the skills from an early age
