The US and countries all over the world saw a decline in investment in stocks after the 2008 financial crisis. Classical economics teaches us that a reduction in investment in capital could lower our GDP in the long run. In this video we go over several examples of how we can use the classical slow-swan growth model to analyze what could happen in the economy when we see decreased investment. As silver and gold investors we can be uniquely positioned to have reserve capital when markets fall and no one else has capital to invest into businesses. Its also important for us to use these models to take a more level headed approach to silver and gold investing. Far to often in the silver and gold investing community we see doom and gloomers predicting gold going to the moon but when we use economic models to help us look at what could possibly happen we will find that more often than not we are better off investing some portion of our investment portfolio into businesses and equities and a smaller reserve portion into precious metals.

I just do T know enough about crypto yet to add it as a hedge in my portfolio! I know a lot of people swear by it and I think there is potential if I learned more about it!

I have a question for you Timmy. Let’s say you purchased a large hoard of coins. If you resell the coins in large quantities, they would sell fast, but if you sell them individually you would return more. Assuming the rate of replacement is unknown, what is the best sells strategy?

So this is like asking the dollar cost averaging question in reverse for selling. Short answer it depends. Long answer is if you sell coins off over time you will get the average of the prices over that time. I would tend to point you in that direction as a general rule but if metals prices do fall over that time yes you would be better off selling everything all at once and getting a lump sum.
