I’m over the moon for The Peakys, wonderful finds, especially the cannon 😎. The second (I think) thing you showed on the finds looks like a leather punch for making leather discs or holes in leather. The little scoop looks to me like an Apothecary spoon or mini spatula for measuring out very small amounts of powder. Hope that helps. Give Nicola a hug from me when you see her, I’m so pleased her scare turned out to be a migraine.

What an amazing collection of finds, and all found close to each other on the same day. I am surprised by the excellent condition of the canon ball, better than any that I have ever seen. It would be interesting to show it and the canon barrel to an expert naval historian to see if further information could be revealed; perhaps at the Greenwich Maritime Museum. Such a visit could make a fascinating day out. All those finds and your birthday, I bet you will remember this episode for the rest of your life.

Hi guys. Glenn that scoop your describing is actually cuticle pusher which is missing it’s handle. My Nan had one the same missing its tortoise shell handle. Happy Birthday by the way. Just an idea for the cannon you could use it to call last orders at yer shed at the bottom of the garden 😂. Great video by the way 👍🏻

Cobbles in the street in Lancashire were also called SETS...

the find at 36:4 could be a rounding chisel for hot rivets. In the old days there were no electric bits to round off rivets. They were rounded by that cupped chisel and a hammer. So it may have been used to round off rivets.
