The history of coin silver has always appealed to me. Plus I like the older coin designs much more than modern ones. Thanks, Josh!

I been saving constitutional for a few years trying to put together rolls. I have a roll of mercuries, and Rosie's trying to finish a roll of Barbers and recently started a roll of seated liberty dime. I love constitutional but I also stack 5 and 10 oz bars. The way I look at it and old quarter once bought a gallon of gas and it still will

No problem at all supporting your channel with a comment. I’m a fairly new stacker but have been a pocket change collector my whole life(born in 76). Finally in a place in my life where I can buy coins and not just sort through my change. Maybe that’s why I love buying the 90% stuff. I really like holding each coin before I toss it in the box and think about all the hands it’s graced before me and how far it’s traveled and what not. It actually blows my mind when I get deep into thought about some dime i’m holding from 1929 or so. I know i’m not the only one. Hello friends : )

I wish I could afford to play with that much Constitutional silver (or good honest money as I like to call it)...that would be so much fun putting them in those coin folders and see how many different years/mintmarks you got.

Definitely love my constitutional. I got to my 100 ozs silver weight goal just in constitutional a couple years ago, thankfully before the premiums went crazy but I haven't bought any since reaching that goal but it's certainly been nice seeing the deals on them lately. I'm working on other stacking goals such as getting a monster box of eagles filled up so unless i find a deal much closer to spot im just going to focus on my other goals. Thanks for sharing.

I prefer the Mercury dimes over Roosevelt as you dont have to grab the magnifying glass to verify the date. I would like to see a 2-oz 90% "Barter bag'" mix be offered (minus the Roosevelt's). This is my go-to channel!

IMO, "junk" is what you have to pay someone to haul away for you. Nothing made of mostly silver qualifies for that label. US 90% silver or constitutional silver works for me. I have quite a bit of US 90% silver and like owning all denominations from dimes to Morgan dollars. I really like the proof statehood quarters, 1964 Kennedy halves, and 1880s- 1890s Morgan dollars. Also have a few peace dollars but consider them trading material. Same with the 5-oz. Prospector bars. Other than these, my stack is about 65% Maples and 35% ASEs, both bought when silver was $14-$15 an oz. and premiums were $1.50-$2.50 an oz.

Nothing costing that much $$$$ should be called "junk silver", LOL. Seriously, you can't go wrong with 90% silver coins IMO. And i'm pretty sure they will come in very handy in the not to distant future.
@willbaum7140
@willbaum7140 4 ай бұрын
Bartering aside, stackers need to really take into account that when it comes time to sell, you're going to get less for 'Junk' than you will for bullion since it's much more labor intensive to melt it down and refine so the premiums need to be really low, at least for me to stack it. YMMV
@user-pj6bl5md5r
@user-pj6bl5md5r 4 ай бұрын
Ummmmm not many will be worried about melting it down. Like wtf are you talking about. No one melts junk silver now. It's priced for its silver content. I truly have zero clue what you're talking about and pretty sure you don't either

@@user-pj6bl5md5r If the fact that silver has massive industrial uses has eluded you and the process needed to use it as such has to be explained to you then you'd probably want to refrain from making disparaging remarks about what others may or may not know. It's called 'junk' silver for a reason Einstein.
@markd.songsandstuff7728
@markd.songsandstuff7728 4 ай бұрын
The added cost of melting 90% is not huge, many people buy junk silver for barter just in case. However, the refining cost of melting 35%-40% silver coins does make a big difference when selling which is why I only buy 90%. Back when silver hit about $40 oz lots of people sold their silver, it didn't matter a lot about the difference between 90% or 100%, good profit on it all.

Buy a red book, it has a bullion chart of coinage giving silver value of each coin denomination at silver spot price. You buy at spot + premium per ounce.

The assumption that everyone makes about owning fractional silver is that NO ONE will have any and you will need to have fractional to make transactions. I'm not advocating huge bars, but giving someone a one ounce round and getting change (X number of silver coins in return) seems entirely reasonable. We don't all walk around with pockets full of coins to make fractional purchases. I generally don't carry any change and rarely carry dollar bills unless I have received them in change.
