For me, it's going to be silver, specifically Constitutional silver. I firmly believe that our economy is going to collapse, and need something for barter with my local farmers. I picked up a couple dozen Mercury dimes yesterday and will probably buy another 50 on Monday. Each one could possibly buy a loaf of bread or a dozen eggs if SHTF.

Oh yeah, I definitely see a use for having some smaller denominations to barter. I think when it come to investing that’s when you have to consider storage.

I stacked both for the last few years Silver barely covered the premiums and that's generic... gold has made a good profit well over its premiums

Makes sense. I have drifted away from stacking silver as much outside of my favorite series that come out every year. The lower premiums on gold make it so much more attractive like you mentioned.
