The fact that WWE and Goldberg could not work it out denied the audience an awesome Bill Goldberg who was in fantastic shape at that point of time!!Imagine Bill staying for say 3 to 4 years man he could have had classics with Taker, Batista, Cena,Edge and good matches with Big Show and Mark Henry to name a few

@manashdb 4 жыл бұрын
@@jimmy2times813 He didn't want anyone's to be happy except for his own father's son. 2016 was the time Lesnar basically booked himself. Vince was kissing his ass big time since UFC was a viable option for Lesnar. He wanted a good storyline, something that was easily available during his first run. Stuff with Rock, Undertaker, Kurt Angle. Even Big Show. It wasn't just prize fighter matched but something with a rivalry and history. Nobody in the roster fitted that bill. So he and Heyman decided to bring in Goldberg. The only way Lesnar loses in WWE is if he's good friends with his opponent, sees an opportunity to turn that loss into a bigger win for his conqueror tag or if he's paid a motherload of money. For someone who hasn't had a single match on Monday night Raw since 2012 and is the leading belt holder of the same show, being humiliated is a luxury of his own choosing.

I was at ringside for that match and the atmosphere was just a mixture of hostility and incredulity. Behind me there was a Hulk Hogan impersonator running up and down the aisles who got a better reaction than either of the two wrestlers. If it wasn't for a Stone Cold being the special guest referee there would have been no positivity in the ring at all.

That match wasn’t even really bad. It was decent, but the crowd ruined that shit. So what they were leaving. Goldberg wasn’t happy and Brock wanted to do something else. This is where I disagree with the fans because I feel that a human being should be able do whatever they want or how they’re feeling. They’re human just like us and those two wanted to leave for their own reasons. Who are we to look down upon and hate on. If you’re not a fan of both then I get the booing, but the crowd was just acting like a bunch of corny ass bitches that night. They did the same shit to Rock when we went off to do movies. Luckily, Rock came back and spun that around with an awesome heel turn.

for context because of the amount of smarks these days now. both men were leaving, goldberg not wanting to renew his contract since he disliked the wwe and brock had enough of traveling/being in pain/hated being around with people and was done despite a successful 2 year run. the fans only knew goldberg was leaving but didn't know lesnar was leaving until around mania time and decided to boo both men in their match which probably lead to both men not caring enough even further to wanna try to have a decent match because of the crowd response. In their defense both men are pretty good at what they do and if you booed like that in any match its going to have an impact obviously so that's just my take as to why the match was such a mess. maybe if they had done it like how they did it in their second encounter at mania it would've been much much better but thats just a perspective on it with how it literally went down

@ Reagan Lor Lesnar and Goldberg were also overpaid for their services that year. I think if I recall, Goldberg only did 10 shows that entire year. Zero house shows.....his heart wasn't in it. Lesnar was good at what he did. Goldberg was not. You must be a casual fan. The fans had every right to boo that night. Especially when they are spending hundreds of dollars up to $1,000 for a damn good show. These two both disrespected the fans that night. Goldberg sucked ass as a wrestler and was successful because of his gimmick, not because he was a hell of a worker in the ring. If I was in their shoes, didn't want to be there, regardless of the crowd response I would have put on a great show anyway. In large part because if that's my last match, and if I'm a megastar, I'm going to go out on top.

@@comet6740 No, it's got nothing to do with size. He looked great don't get me wrong. I like guys who are passionate about the business, and really care about putting other talent over after they get over and make a lot money. 2 moves for $2 million a year doesn't do it for me I'm sorry. He got paid on Potential only.....Therefore he didn't have to work as hard at his job.....and actually wrestle wrestle. He was overpaid for his services in my opinion when he was in WCW. Plus I doubt he ever had to pay his dues a whole lot when he first broke in the business. His gimmick got him over. I give bill credit for one thing only and that's making a lot of money and being successful doing other things. Your right he was def. real athletic, explosive. That's great that you like him. I got an eye for someone who can actually wrestle vs someone who can't. I've been watching wrestling for a long time now. It's real hard to like somebody like Bill when the guy couldn't wrestle worth a damn. Just ask William Regal. It's also hard to like bill when he threw people under the bus when it was his fault. Or when he wouldn't put other talent over after he started making a lot of money. He gave Brett Hart a hell of a concussion, didn't check on him after the match or call to apologize to him. He was a badass until Chris Jericho choked his out ass after putting him in a hold. By the way smaller guys typically can do way more in the ring, and are more athletic in the ring than someone like Bill. They can wrestle better too. Case in Point, Rey Mysterio, Eddie Guererro, The Rock and Roll Express etc. Those guys were all fun to watch.

Oh I'm totally with you that I think Brock could have military pressed Goldberg just like Goldberg military pressed Brock, although the military press was rarely performed by Lesnar, guy was a workout horse and probably never skipped a leg day in his life, but here will be the difference between the two, while Lesnar probably just has a basic knowledge of slams/drops he could/would perform using the military press, Goldberg was an Einstein when it came to using a military press on an opponent. Look up Goldberg's move sets of the different gorilla/military press slams/power moves Goldberg would pull off on his opponents, while also keeping with the basic slams/drops he would use while pulling off the military press.

Fuck this match just shit the bed at the time. Was it like 5 or 10 full minutes before either one of them tried to do something? God it was such a chore to watch this match. I'm more surprised that WWE even thought to try again with these two much later after that, at least the quality got better than whatever WM20 was. But to think about it back, it was an unfortunate happening. Goldberg didn't want to renew his contract (can't blame him either because, think of the shit they dragged him through during Triple HHH's reign of terror shenanigans) and he was still fairly in his prime, able to move and do all of that intense shit he did. Then Lesnar, who seemed to have gotten tired of the schedule who also was definitely in his apex at the time, just didn't want to bother. They both deserved stunners for that match. @@bugsquashinghero891 exactly my thoughts..Whether if they leaving or not..Bill was fairly still in his prime and was around 290lbs with a great physique and so is Lesnar with 295lbs at the pjysical peak of his career and both were known for their power and explosiveness but since they be hugging and wait out at least a good 10mins to sort things out during the match and hardly perform nor deliver such a big moves against each other despite them being known for ruthless and agression in their match and at one point it was a fanyasy match between 2 goliaths going at each other and one of em representing each for raw and smackdown...But we all know how it went down and who would havent disappointment on their match and anyone with a brain would trash on it... Both looks like a mid card jobbers in a week showdown and wouldnt never ever had a match at the grandest stage in Mania by how they perform and deliver

@@thanglura568 Agreed. Don’t know why people assume it’s cuz they were leaving. Who cares if they were? It wasn’t that or the crowd. I think Big Show might've done. Brock certainly didn't, whatever Goldberg says here. He threw him around with a bunch of suplexes but I never saw Brock press anyone bigger than Charlie Haas. It wasn't part of his moveset and he didn't have the shoulder strength Goldberg had.

@@alexrios1737 Agreed. I don't even know that Goldberg was capable of huge numbers in the gym but he could shift incredibly heavy weights for a short period of time. When it came to pressing giant guys, he was one of the best in wrestling along with Davey Boy Smith, Crush and Dr Death Steve Williams. People talk a lot about him pressing Brock but for me, the way he did reps with Scott Steiner at his absolutely biggest was even more impressive.

Goldberg has lost the respect of many Hardcore wrestling fans. Him vs Brock match at survivor series, he should have stopped wrestling there. Instead he became universal champion. Just like his Wrestlemania 20 match this interview. Denial was in the air. The interviewer meant to say "Wrestlemania 20" sucked. He sugar coated it, rather than keeping it 100. @1:21. So how was Bill and Brock working hard before the match??? Working hard doing what?? Running laps outside around the building?? That question should have been asked. Working hard to not hurt each other's egos hahaha. The only hard work they put in during the match was the final 2 minutes. Goldberg has an over inflated ego. The fans knew the match was not going to be good, that's partially why they were booing those two big time. You put on a shit match as a mega star/marquee main eventer you deserved to get booed and have trash thrown at you. Whether or not Goldberg wants to admit it, he and Lesnar both insulted/Disrespected the fans that night.

However, Goldberg hurt many people in wrestling, and before Bret’s match, Bret told Goldberg we can do whatever you want in the ring, but don’t hurt me out there.
