I think there is genuine pressure internally to pick Harry maguire , because if you drop him is creates more headline and division because when Ole was at the wheel he gave him the captaincy. Basically it’s not easy to drop the captain when you just paid 80m for him.

It is interesting that Fernandes seems to always ignore Ronaldo when he should be playing him in the final third. There seems to be no chemistry between him and Ronaldo, it seems he wants to be the one dictating the game and trying to be the star man. Even when Ronaldo gives him a pass and expects it back, Fernandes would rather try to create for Alanga or somebody else and that has to stop, it happened a few times during today's game. The team was brilliant against spurs without him and Ronaldo thrived. Ronaldo's game has changed therefore he needs teammates that would understand his every move when loose his markers and play him whenever he needs the ball cause he's always tight marked by the opposing teams. At madrid, they knew he was the danger man therefore they did everything to find him on the pitch every time no matter his geographical position on the pitch. It seems he plays better on this team without Fernandes to be honest, and the entire team seems to play well without Fernandes and Mctominay, Rangnick should have kept his winning team from the Spurs game with the exception of Maguire and Rashford, he too helped to disrupt the momentum when he dropped Pogba and Matic for Fernandes and Mctominay. Another thing is, Alanga isn't tactically discipline, his job should be to run the flanks and put in crosses but instead, he's more eager to score goals and that makes him to leave gabs behind every time, he doesn't know how to cross the ball either. At Madrid, Vasquet, Arsensio, Bale and the rest understood what they needed to do tactically, they weren't invading the spaces of Ronaldo and Benzema, I know they too wanted to score goals but they had to execute what zidane wanted tactically to allow Benzema and Ronaldo to do the job for the team and that is how they succeeded as a team. I don't know what Rangnick is telling these guys, It seems Bruno is doing whatever he wants and at the end he keeps invading the spaces that Ronaldo needs to operate to be efficient, indeed we had a great game against Spurs without him and as soon as he was brought back today it became the same old story for us and it hurts.
