Our players wre revolutionary in the second half, Bruno's creativity was excellent,DDG is our keeper and this is what still keeps ole in his job.He turns a result but exposed again, something needs to happen at the football club.

All that happened was that Atalanta collapsed and Utd played very direct football. If Atalanta had of been better at holding the ball Utd would have been in serious trouble.

The Utd midfield against Atalanta was dreadful. In the first 45 minute of play the central midfield could not pass the ball forward at all. And the one time it attempted to do so it passed the ball to the opposition. And this is not a one off it has been the case for the last two seasons. Donny was brought into the club to play in central midfield and he has not played one full game there with him only getting half a game in the central midfield.

Man Greenwood is a generational talent but he is not a starter yet or rather he simply doesn't work out wide...even a 36yr Old CR7 pressed more than him the entire game...Sancho needs to be on the right...presses, tracks back and actually knows how to dribble and pass...I much rather have Sancho working hard and providing assists to the CR7/Cavani instead of the odd worldie he scores which just doesn't help the team overall.

Yet greenwood is contributing and sancho isn't. We play too defensive mids, we shouldn't also rely on our inverted wingers constantly tracking back. You're blinded by sancho's hype.

juan juan sancho played a few games in a row Cant beat a man. Can't knock the ball to the side and put a cross in. Can't counter that well either as he gets caught up Keeps it simple but has done absolutely nothing Greenwood can be frustrating out wide but switched the play well and created a good chance

They were wide open and had no 1st choice centre backs in the 2nd half. Demiral was the only 1st choice cb for atalanta, the rest were either inexperienced or played as a cb even though they were md. Liverpool will smash us if we play like that on Sunday.

@@hypeclaneu i know what your saying but watching the games for the last few years with solskjaer you can see the team has no direction or philosophy. Even the wins are a struggle through with the odd great performance. I not saying united have to win every game and competition but they have to start performing on a consistent basis win or lose. But the players look lost on the pitch and if you look at amy manager worth his salt their teams go onto the pitch and play with the tactics they are being trained to do but united are a bunch of lost sheep relying on names rather than a team performance. Take Brighton for example. Decent team but a manager with a style of play and direction and the team knows what job they are supposed to be doing

Its so bittersweet. Happy we won. but so frustrated seeing how good we played second half. Play like that, this team can beat ANY team in europe, and its not even their maximum yet. I 100% believe that if ole is replaced by someone like zidane, we're gonna challenge and most probably win the league or the ucl. (Also: i also think ronaldo deserves better, he can do this (and more) every game if we play real football, i feel so guilty wasting the goat its tragic. in conclusion, if u have united's best interest in mind, dont get swayed so easily, ole needs to go ASAP)

Great turnaround, the second half felt like the old united. We need to play more attacking, press play football we had many chances to score tonight - and the subdued players came alive when play was switched to a more attacking unit. Still a lot of work to do defensively ...credit to us though hopefully we can build on this

Giving Lindelof a 5 and Maguire a 7 even though Maguire was at fault for both Atalanta goals is something I can't put my head around.

Funny how ole wants to drop Pogba but then brings him on when he needs him to save his ass. Ppl forget Bruno may have saved him but Pogba got him the job in the first place.

Pogba is not a central midfield player he is an attacking half that likes to build attacking play. At present Utd have DVB who is the only central midfield player that can pass the ball consistently but he has only had 45 minutes of football in he central midfield.

That tends to happen when the central midfield cannot pass the ball and are nowhere to be found in the game. In the first 45 minutes of football they could not make one forward pass and their only attempt at a forward pass was straight to the opposition. The exact same thing that happened against Atalanta happened against RB Leipzig. Man Utd most successful passing route in the game against Atalanta was from the defence to the forward line.

as a passionate man utd supporter for the last 47 years I feel we wont win a major trophy under solskjaer, we had a Brilliant win tonight but we are papering over the cracks, we are poor at the back bar varane, only for de gea we would have lost again, we are conceding too many goals, we are basically a counter attacking team and olly doesn't know his best team,plays players out of position and cant change formations, we could get a result against Liverpool if we let them have the ball and counter attack them at pace, if we try to dominate them we could be opened up and in for a hammering, olly is out of his depth and needs to go sooner rather than later, jim O'Connell

Utd do not need a CDM at this point. Utd do not even have a good central midfield at present. There is no point talking about the midfield defending if the midfield cannot do its most basic task which is to pass the ball.

I think people just wanna see Sancho start ahead of Greenwood. The boy is more decisive. He makes good forward passes in tight space and can give you goals. I don't see that with Sancho right now. He just seem energetic but nothing to show. Passing not great at the moment

Not getting excited over this. Atalanta were bloody aweful. They were playing with no cbacks. Their tactics second half were even worse than ogs in the first. 5 players out and nearly beat us. Start the game playing bloody counter attack football. Atlantic showed how nieve their tactics were. Played into utds hands. Just prolonging the inevitable.

The one change I noticed tonight was that when we were attacking Fred and mctominay both got forward with Fred having a curler that went wide and mctominay hit the post.

Our season needs to get back on track by getting crosses in for CR7 and Cavani ffs. Greenwood needs a rest for Sancho on the right. With Shaw on the left and Sancho on the right CR7 will be happier alright.

Been Ole out since Young Boys. But if we lose to Liverpool this Sunday. I will finally be Ole in. He is the best Liverpool manager since David Moyes. A legend indeed. Full of respect.

Great win. I will savour this win tonight. But we play like that first half tonight against Liverpool, we will be 4 nil down at half time. He will always be starting Mcfred at the weekend. Dont be surprised if he plays mcfred and matic to try and win the midfield battle.

The thing that helped was that bruno dropped deeper and helped the midfield give us numbers and strength in that area he has to do that in every game now and not worry about stats 👍

Thought Fred played well. Problem is Mctominay isnt wanting the ball and not connecting the midfield to the strikers. All changed when Pogba came on

Nope. Utd in the second half just played pressing football and Atalanta collapsed under the pressure. There was no special selections or no special tactics used. Here is the irony DVB who is side lined in his only 45 minutes in central midfield played more forward passes than Utd midfield has played the whole of this season.
