@@LeoFluffyPaws I was giving him a bath every two weeks when I first got him (gotta have a clean puppy) He just used to water. Now if it rains (doesn't happen much in Las Vegas) he will sit on the patio and stare in the sky and get soaked. If he knows it's bath time, he JUMPS in the tube. Funny enough, he doesn't like to swim in a pool. Take lots of pictures! They grow fast!

@@LeoFluffyPaws I have two other dogs. My Boston Terrier is 8 months older than him. When I got my Golden they were about the same height. They grew up together so they were playmates. They are attached at the hip. My golden never caused and damage, no chewing on things etc. He is super intuitive. He potty trained really fast. He really is the most fun dog I have ever had. He loves to meet people and play with other dogs. Super well behaved. The only downside is he gets car sick, so I don't take him to other places much. I thought he would outgrow it, but he hasn't. He loves to bring me things, so he definitely retrieves. He is super fascinated with birds.

Yes! 🙌 I completely agree with you! I received many comments saying that it is bad for their skin yadayada, but according to many people who are actual lab or golden owners, there is no harm of bathing them. My Labrador in Belgium, loves swimming but hates bathing.. but we adopted him at 4y of age, so it is maybe too late to teach him. My fist female lab, same… The golden that we saved from the streets, hated bathing. So, we hope that Leo will like it 🫶🏻😂🤗

Yes, we know that. I already mentioned the reason. But I will say it one more time. Unfortunately there was no mom. He was breastfed by another dog. The day when we took him, I told the person that it is too early… I mean c’mon 5 weeks! I was very pissed that day, but here in Bulgaria there is no such thing as control organisations. Good thing is that Leo was already eating solid food. I think that the person wanted to get rid of the pups to avoid cost of vaccination ect. We took the responsibility because we can take care of him. If we lived in a house instead of an apartment, I would have taken his brother as well… We both work from home and we have quite a lot free time to educate him. Every day we take time to play together. He already knows where to pee and poo 🤗. Sleeps well, eats well. We prioritise high quality food, also chicken breast, tuna. It is my fourth dog and I am quite used to this. Now that I think about it, I don’t remember life without a dog 😁. Oh, we also organise play dates with our neighbour dogs, two females, because they are super clean, gentle and have all vaccines. So far no problem with his behaviour. He is super social. Everyone in the building loves him already 😂 Once he receives the 3th vaccine, he will attend puppy school to socialise. 🍀

Thank you 🫶🏻 We are using a shampoo which is very mild and made for frequent use, with adapter pH for puppy skin. I am aware of the importance of the skin microbiome and the important role of skin sebum, which is indeed the first barrier to protect us against harmful pathogens (my specialty is immunology and oncology). All of this is valid regarding the age of the dog (even for us, humans). However, imagine that he sits in the peepee (it happens 😂).. you cannot let it smell 🍀

Hi 👋 So, for a golden retriever puppy, it is advised to give a bath every 6 weeks. Unless some potty accident where they roll or lay on (which was the reason of this the second shower 2 weeks later :D ).

It is my fourth dog and I am quite used to this. Now that I think about it, I don’t remember life without a dog 😁. He is almost 8 weeks old and he knows already a few commands, moreover he knows where to do his business! He hasn’t destroyed anything (yet), and stays alone when we have to go grocery shopping. During this time he behaves well (we’ve placed a camera to check on him). Leo sleeps though the night and wakes up at 6 - 6h30 :) To be honest I am pretty proud of him.

@@LeoFluffyPaws That's great to hear. The part I'm worried about is the socializing with other dogs. Even though it does sound like you're very responsible dog parents, I would consider taking him to obedience training classes to socialize him with other dogs early as soon as he's received his final vaccinations.

@@knightrcer You make an excellent point! He already met our neighbours/friends dogs. Two females, one French and the other English bulldog. They were friends with our previous Golden, Lucky, but unfortunately he passed away… Both dogs are hyper clean, vaccinated and regularly dewormed ect. (We visit the same vet clinic and the vet knows and gave permission) This is why we let Leo play together with them. We organise regularly play dates and he behaves pretty good! Nothing strange so far. We talked to our vet and she helped us find a great a puppy school. Normally he will be ready to attend it mid July 😂

@@LeoFluffyPaws That's great to hear. I've never had a dog myself but I've watched a few hundred hours of Cesar Millan's dog whisperer and Cesar 911 to get over my fear of dogs. Learned so much over the years like never mention their name when they practice a negative behavior to associate their name with it. They feel your energy even through the leash. I've Helped my friend raise his dog since he was a small puppy. His pup had a brother and they were both saved from a tornado twister. i loved that dog so much that I could still remember him staring into my eyes for long periods of time. The treats and dog bones I gave him. They have since moved but I miss that dog more than my friend haha.

I watch Dr. Poll and during my studies (biomedical research) we had mandatory courses on animal behaviour, which according to the professor can be applied from mice and rats, to bigger animals. I learned a few things 😁. I continue to educate anyway! Any tips are welcome 🤗. And yes, animals feel the energy, the frequencies or vibrations. It’s crazy! It’s like they feel the vibrations of our atoms! Sometimes I think that they are capable to read our minds 😂. The thing about the name, good to know! In order to make him enjoy his cage when left home alone, we decided to make it a very pleasant experience (toys ect.), we never never never place him in the cage as punishment. We want him to understand that it is his place and that he feels safe. Do you have some books to recommend? I appreciated very much you sharing your story :)
