leng leapheng if you were watching basketball at that time u would know why I can sit here and admit to you here now in 2018 that knowing what I knew then and seeing what I saw back then that I would've taken Oden number 1 and would not have thought twice about it it's easy to say the blazers made a mistake now but at that time in 2007 Kd was a great scorer unstoppable offensively but I watched them both in college and Oden was a once in a generation type player a 7 footer with a developing post game,he is a right handed player and played his first month or so of college games with his left hand because his right hand was broken and he was a terror defensively I still to this day have never seen a player protect the paint the way Oden did that year at Ohio State he literally had a pwnis afraid to come in the paint I feel he should have been number one as well but unfortunately for him he got injured and was never the player he was supposed to be

dude u must of not been watching basketball back in 2007 i will admit back in 07 i would have picked greg oden over durant without even thinking twice oden was a dominant shot blocker with advanced posted skills for a college freshmen i watched him play in college alot that year he was absolutly DOMINANT defensivley he struck fear in oppents and had players afraid to come in the paint,i cant say that if he didnt get injuired he wouldve been better than kd because kd has had a hell of a career but i cant blame portland for picking him in 07 because i definently would have at that time no doubt

You are so right about Oden. I would have took Durant at No 1..if you watch tape of Oden in highschool and college is was not a natural athlete. He did look awkward making moves on the court. People seem underestimate fluidity and handeye coordination when picking players.

If it wasNt for his injuries, How strange it sounds oden couldve been An overall better Player then shaq. Guy was a 7-footer who was An athletic freak, btw at THE draft combine he beat durant in Nearly every run, lane agility, half court test. They had THE same speed and that for A 7 foot 260 pound guy.
