I randomly met one of my viewers that works for the company that mines the sand. He told me they definitely do assays and are aware of the traces of gold. He ended up joining my prospecting club and finding his first gold that day.

I thought everybody had already seen Ask Jeff Williams' and Klesh's videos on Home Depot sand.

The cost of that would be astronomical. Dirt is cheap, make it more expensive and Lowe’s will take over, which I shudder at the thought of.

In Georgia? I recently discovered that the Crisson mine sells all their crushed ore to sand vendors. The don't crush their ore very fine. They get out the bigger flakes for their customers and paydirt and sell the rest to sand vendors. That sand is loaded with gold.

I called the local "quikcrete" office and asked them where they sourced their sand. They said North Georgia, I said thank you. It must be a gold bearing area with gold bearing quartz veins.

No, just all purpose sand. It's the same brand that makes cement mix though.

The Quikrete office in Atlanta is basically right on the gold belt. I'm going to find out where it was quarried on Monday.

@Reptwar Banski it just so happens I work at a rock quarry here in the Atlanta area, and we've all been curious about our sand piles. On tonight's list of things for me to do is clean the build up out from under our sand belts. Some buckets of it are going home with me tonight.

I hear your opinion, but I've also caught 200 mesh gold with this in the past. Maybe it loses some I don't know. I'll test it by running tailings.

If you enjoy what you're doing then don't let people like me stop you. This goes all the way back to Vine, but sick of seeing one person do something that works and everyone else doing the same.

@@DieselJeeper I didn't do the Home Depot video because I thought it would get views. I did it because I personally wanted to know if there was gold in Georgia Home Depot sand and I wanted to test out my new toy. Every time I do something gold related I record it and post it regardless of what people think. I'm probably not going to find "lots of gold" because this is Georgia and I'm brand new to prospecting. I got my first gold pan this past Christmas. I learn from the experienced prospectors that watch my channel and give me feedback.
