George is a marvelous player!!!! His swing looks so good. I would love to see George in his prime, playing with modern equipment. Couldn't imagine how awesome he is!!!!! Thank u

A finer swing than legendary golfers who have won. Majors, but thereis more to winning majors than just a great swing , that he was admired by Hogan says a lot. All i can say is i would sell my soul to swing and strike the ball like him , cheers

Before watching this video, I always thought Moe Norman was the greatest player from Canada. After watching this video, I have to say I believe George Knudson was the best. It's just my opinion. I still regard Moe as "the greatest ball striker" to ever play, but George Knudson, imho, was a better overall player. His record on the PGA Tour proves it. Moe didn't play very well on the PGA Tour.

It's such an interesting comparison because they are very different people. The style, the swing, where and how they played etc. Though, If we are going by competition at the highest level, I agree. George was the best. I do wonder what Moe could have been on the PGA tour if he had the right people supporting him. It does add to his mystique because we never know how well he would have faired there. Two of the best ball strikers in history, both from Canada. Gotta love it. Thanks for the comment Danny. In the sixties and early seventies my husband played in tournaments in Canada that had both Moe Norman and Knudson in the tournaments. So he had an opportunity to watch both of them up close.

Essence of an effective swing (per Jackie Burke, Jr.): Watch his club point at the target at the top of his swing and watch the club swing around his neck in the finish. This gets him on plane and ensures that he doesn't dump his club energy into the ground enroute. One cannot swing fully around the neck at the finish without centering his or herself enroute to the finish.
