Matching the forward arm on the backswing to the alignment stick which is set at 4 o'clock is exactly the visual aide that I needed. Practicing this takeaway in my home office now. Thanks Eric!

Great tip! I am a habitual slicer & tried this at the range today ...hit 3/4 bucket with 8 iron and hit draw or straight for most of them. Hit 8 balls with driver and didn't slice any of them ! it also shortened my swing slightly and gained lot of distance :)

There’s very little you could do to enhance your videos because they’re already great. HOWEVER... Maybe a shot tracer would just be the icing on the cake. I mean, how do we know they’re not shanking off to the right.. Mary loves you, she’s gunna lie for you. Great stuff as always.

Eric. Really enjoy your videos, concepts and methods. Thx. -I know most of the "click-bait" videos are geared toward bandaids for the 90% of golfers who slice the ball. Maybe something for the rest of us who spend most of our day on the left side of the golf course? -I tend to come through 1*-2* closed to target with a decidedly inside path . I can make the ball curve left no problem. It's getting the ball to start right of target line and then only coming back to center (as opposed to "straight-hooks/pull-hooks/snap-hooks/big monster draws. Also, if i close my hips like you show i really struggle to get my hips and shoulders to clear.

Thanks for your video. You should maybe explain HOW you close the club face. Either your wrist or by just taking a slightly stronger grip ? I favor the second option because it is simple. No need to loop, just keep exactly the same swing while aiming right. What is your advice ?

Another great video Eric! I'm a bit confused. In another video with your friend John Dunigan (?) about rotating the arms. Is the arm rotation discussed in that video to be used as a normal part of all golf swings regardless of draw, fade or straight shot? In other videos you say the club head should match your spine initially in the follow thru. Can you explain? It seems that in general Golf instructors don't seem to want arm rotation saying it's too hard to time squaring the club face. Thanks!

Hi Eric, as usual, very interesting. Does it help to have a two plane backswing to create a draw trajectory ? The shallower the club, the easier. Do you agree ? Louis
@CogornoGolf
@CogornoGolf 3 жыл бұрын
Hey Louis! Well, technically speaking.....yes. But in terms of real work application....not always. Some people find it easier going back on a plane closer to way down. Backswing only matters to the degree it effects the downswing movement.....we can make anything work.

just love your lessons. However, I have a question. I have very limited use of my left hand due to old football injuries and horses trying to do a number on me. I have pins in my thumb area which make it painful to turn my left wrist too much. Could I start with my clubface close quite a bit before the takeaway? thank you, Eric.
@CogornoGolf
@CogornoGolf 3 жыл бұрын
Hey Ron! Thank you for the kind words and support! The short answer is that I do not know. I would need to see how you can/cannot use your left hand and work through some possible solutions. I would think what you mentioned is an option or probably a much stronger grip. If you have your left hand grip turned more clockwise you won't need to have as much wrist flexion or lead arm rotation kzfaq.info/get/bejne/abeBiNyD07i3eok.html kzfaq.info/get/bejne/bqmXZbJpxtrRiY0.html

What works for me......moving the right foot slightly back (as you mentioned) and visualizing the club head being below my right shoulder at the top of my backswing. (Not “across the line” at the top - slice city for me). Also, I strengthen my grip slightly to close the club face. At least that’s what it feels like.
