35mm HD film scan of another "well enjoyed" and badly faded-to-red print (hence the odd colored scratches after a basic color correction).
Apparently they had phones on the golf course in 1960!
Released September 7, 1960 Filmed in Boca Rotan, Florida

This is really great. Sam sure did seem like a sweet, kind guy. A real ambassador to the game.

Hiding from a phone was a thing back then. Now everyone has their iPhone with them on the golf course posting to Instagram.

Actually it's called Boca Raton. I've visited there a few times, and they have marvelous beaches! My father used to live in the city just over.

Course is in much better shape now, looked horrid back then - obviously agronomy has improved on beach courses since those days.

Hello Vwestlife has sent me like many others, I have searched far and wide for a basic or general price for a Laser Graphic ScanStation, could you by any chance point me in the right direction or give me a general idea of the cost?

Hi Steamy, The LaserGraphic 6.5K HDR Scanstation with everything you need will set you back about a quarter million when its all said and done. These youtube video uploads won't truly show the quality due to the compression youtube puts onto them to make them stream-able, but make sure you are at least clicking the settings button on the video window and selecting "1080", as that's going to give you the best quality youtube can provide.

@@FTDepot I was just curious, I don’t doubt the quality whatsoever in the ScanStation, they are built to last, just wasn’t aware of the price, and boy that’s pricy 😂 I’ll make sure to send any film i need developed your way, Thanks

Would scanning a Filmguard-treated print cause issues with the Scanstation?
@FTDepot
@FTDepot 3 жыл бұрын
We don't let any film go on the Scanstation until it has been ultrasonically cleaned with perchloroethylene first. The reason is because the Scanstation uses a PTR as its film drive, so there can not be any slippage. That being said, the perchloroethylene will remove any and all types of film cleaning / lubricating solvents, making it like it was never there in the first place (as opposed to waiting for the FilmGuard to slowly disappear on its own over a few years). Post-scan, the film can have FilmGuard put back on it to hide base side scratches during normal projection. This particular print is quite the example of a print with heavy scratching on the emulsion and the base sides of the film, as well as having the color fade to almost completely red. The Scanstation uses a special light diffusion to hide base side scratches in a similar way that FilmGuard scatters the light source upon projection to hide base side scratches, so not having FilmGuard on the print during transfer isn't detrimental to the final scanned image.

Can you post a tutorial video on color correction for films?

Hi Robert, that would be one very, very long video, but people would likely be interested in seeing some of the processes. We may look into doing some behind the scenes videos in the future. Thanks.

I was surprised by how small the champ is relative to Sam Snead. Sam Snead looks pretty fit for his age in this.
