Imaging is powerful. My son was about a 70% free throw shooter so I videotaped him shooting from an angle similar to the way it looked to him during a shot. I edited the tape to 25 consecutive made free throws. I had him watch that video at least once per day for nearly 4 months. The next year he was a 91% free throw shooter. Maybe I ought to video my drives and watch just excellent drives?

I think it may have been Arnie Palmer who first said "don't be a dingleberry." Or was it John the Baptist. Anyway that's solid advice 24/7 x 365. My mother always stressed common sense, I kept trying to tell her most people go on impulse not on instinct. Watch a cat trying to catch a bird. Or a frog trying to catch a bug. They sit and focus, then act. Use your instincts, control your impulse. Building a better game day to day, swing by swing. Visualize it. Luvya stuff man. THANX.

I've been playing for 25 years, some competition in school, beer leagues, scrambles etc. Most golfers are not very good. Golf is hard. if you can learn to drop the ego and expectation it's way more fun. The golf course is my sanctuary, even at its worst it's always a nice walk through some beautiful land. Nice grass, ponds, creeks, woods etc. Go have fun

This is why as a casual golfer I’ve trained my mind to always start at zero after every hole. I don’t keep tracks of my strokes because there’s no reason I’m a casual golfer. And I’ve noticed that when I don’t count my strokes I manage to make birdies and pars more frequently than when I am counting my strokes. It completely helped me score lower. Now my average as a casual golfer is 82-87 and I have a lot of fun on the course even when I hit bad shots

Back nine, I played more conservative and laid up on both par 5’s to my 9I/PW distances. Results were a 44 on the front followed by a 37 on the back and missing a 15’ birdie on eighteen to shoot even par. Kept hearing your voice on the front saying, “that’s stupid. Do this instead” 😂

@@GolfSidekick totally agree like those who play a course for the first time, they shoot without realising what's there and maybe never lose a ball, then some realise the hazards and bang everything they've gone in! One hole in my local is a par 3,170 yards over a long pond and have to avoid high branches on 2 sides-intimidating if overthought but there's a millions balls in the water,I play with an 8 iron, not overly high and sometimes overshoot the green but par often there.
