He will be missed. Amazing player. Some commenters here mention supposed disappointments out of Benfica like Felix or Darwin Nunez. What they forget is that this happens to top players at top level when switching clubs. Sometimes it's the team, the coach, the club culture... Benfica is the most profitable club in player transfers because it excels in creating the proper environment for players to develop their full potential whatever their age and level. It's a player factory with a strong positive culture. Even Di Maria chose to go back to Benfica because of this, giving up much more profitable contracts to re-join Benfica. Benfica (and Porto) need to excel at scouting and forming players because unlike rich european clubs they do not have unlimited funds.

I would have much rather had this deal than the one we did for Hojlund.. Ramos is a player for the near future man I think he's got bags of ability and potential.. was always said that he would cost like 100m

I'm not entirely sure, but I think the problem here was the wages. PSG can offer him 5+ times what he gets at Benfica, so Benfica could only sell him for his release clause if there were several clubs willing to pay what PSG was bidding (i.e. 65+15M€). But because apparently there was no such competition, Benfica probably had to let him go as they cannot match PSG's wages.

@@Pi7on. yeah.. really not a bad deal for PSG especially since they get him on a loan deal with an option to buy. So if he doesn't impress them and live up to the hype they don't even have to pay the fee n just let him go back to benfica!

@@ItzWalshy7 I'm sorry, but you don't know what you are saying. The option to buy is compulsory. There was no chance Benfica would have ever let him leave on a loan deal without an obligation to buy at the end. At the end of the season PSG will have to pay the fee. This is also why PSG will not have to pay anything for the loan, because it is a postponed purchase. This is similar to what happened with Mbappe's deal where he was initially acquired on a one-season loan deal, with the purchase being made at the end. I'm not entirely sure why PSG does this, but it might have something to do with FFP rules and other financial considerations.

I don't know why as well... the only thing i see is that Hojlund suits more the profile that want Ten Hag for a stricker... Apart from that, Ramos is much better in my opinion.

It's not because I'm portuguese, but I definately feel Utd would be better served with Ramos. I watch a lot of Utd games and he'd score a loot of goals. But I can't claim I''ve watched Hojlund up close. From afar, Ramos seems a bit more ready to deliver, but I'm sure Hojlund will do fine. It's not difficult, considerring there are no true strikers at Utd.

Great headers and he seems strong but he's not that explosive and most of the highlight goals were tap-ins. He should still have a maestro like Cavani on the team who can teach him a lesson to be the one to replace him. years have passed. PSG had some names as a striker like Icardi Moise Kean Ekitike but nobody could replace Cavani. But I think Ramos could have learned a lot from Cavani. So let's be honest and see how football has changed. A player like Goncalo Ramos gets 80m for not being anywhere near Cavanis level when he came to Paris for 64m. but i'm still curious i hope that he can develop at paris and convince me otherwise that he can be cavani's replacement. 🔵🔴 Ici c'est Paris

tap ins means the player is able to sense the game and be at the right place in the right timing. That's in fact the first quality a true number 9 should have, and he has it. He's a pocket finisher, for sure, but this kind of player is very precious imo And the kid looks very smart, judging by his passing. great vision of the game

Yes welcome Goncalo Ramos he is a great player, but what we saw today with ** PSG ** in his first league game 2023-24 with Ramos and a bunch of other new arrivals was ** BOCHORNOSO ** to say the least PSG look like they look lost without Mbappe Messi, and Neymar now the President of PSG and the Management got a bucket full of ice water from behind, you made a circus out of Neymar and criticized everything that he did you the club created and started conflict btw the top players and now you going to pay the price I can tell you ahead of time that you won't win the league's Championship Neymar is an exceptional player and so is Kylian and Messi made a joy to see them play, the club needs to get ready of the Luis Campos immediately he is only there to profit on his own interest, and the President of the club need to do anything on his power to stop transferring Neymar Jr Mbappe contract is to complicated now and he just don't want to be there, Luis Enrique needs to also leave he is the e wrong coach for PSG we know what he did with Spain In the world cup I hope that PSG can recover from this

All in all? Ramos was better. But it's unfair to compare players like that. Darwin delivered in a certain moment for the club...where Ramos might not have in the same situation ( Benfica were miles better under Schmidt)..

Exactly what @jeanlundi2141 said. Darwin was an extraordinary striker considering Benfica's team back then. He made a big difference for sure, but overall, I prefer Ramos for his consistency
