No, there is definitely some hypocrisy. But it is for the reason you listed. Gon's morality is based on the moment. It makes him flexible but prone to being morally inconsistent. Basically he is a child whom has never had a strong authority figure to pattern himself after. Curiosity and self interest being his main motivators in deciding right and wrong up until Gin was forced to become involved.

It's still hipocrisy dude. Gon was so mad about the Phantom Troupe but he'd do exactly the same in their position and he did.

No way that's true, he learned a lot from Kite regarding multiple perspectives when Kite had to kill a bear to protect him. He doesn't judge others because of this, only what they do and if it makes sense. I think it's why he doesn't like the spiders because he saw them as senseless killers. He does care about others even to a fault. It's basically the reason why he makes a lot of friends and gets along with everyone.

@@AryanSingh-yy9mw , Kite is still alive as a Ginger Loli though, so Gon going off the walls insane whenever Kite was dead would only make logical sense if Kite was permanently killed off in the story narratively otherwise it doesn’t seem like any ordinary child going into madness in Chimera Ant Arc, but more so than an unhinged person that’s always been unhinged even before that person killed Neferpitou in cold blood.

Honestly, I don’t know that Gon and Killua are going to return to the story. Don’t really see a role for them in the Succession War or Dark Continent arcs and I don’t know how much is planned after those. I think Togashi may have outgrown them.
