Gryfflet has been hanging out with two of Glánhar's surviving sons awaiting the opportunity to rescue their last brother so he is eager to set off through the swamp. His progress is slightly hampered by his now-outdated equipment but he struggles through to meet Malhar who takes a reasonable approach to his rescue. He needs some food, some healing plants, and a makeshift walking-stick, all of which turn out to be surprisingly handy. To Gryfflet's pleasure Malhar turns out to be easy enough to escort, only requiring a brief stop for water and proving remarkably adept at avoiding the wildlife. He even detects an ambush ahead of time and allows Gryfflet to deal with it without interference, truly a paragon! Finally we deliver him to his mother in Ost Rimmon at which point our only outstanding task is to visit the Halifirien, so Gryfflet decides to fulfil a long-standing promise he made to himself: to visit the Falls of Rauros to see the portage path mentioned in the book. He therefore traverses the swamp again, this time even faster, and locates the bottom of the trail. He rides up with great excitement and is not disappointed when he arrives at the Falls, where the view is magnificent in all directions. He finds a vantage point where we discuss what is coming up next, since we have practically finished the Beacon Hills, then we finish the session early.

Lore discussion this week was deferred in favour of trailing some of the Professor's imminent activities, including his annual Webathon tomorrow which will include the return of Gryfflet's colleague, Wigend, who has just arrived in Minas Morgul.
