Such a great tutorial. I cannot stress enough how great it is to detailed explanations of how you go about building your terrain. So many channels speed through to the final product, whereas you take the time to detail your choice of materials, the process of applying them, and still manage to actually show the materials being used! On top of that you combine your expertise for modelling with such great enthusiasm. Edit: I agree the GST is really frustrating for us Australians, as so many good sources of 3rd party tools and models are either in the UK, US or Europe!

I'm really looking forward to it, keep up with your great work! It would be awesome to see traces of the restructuring works ordered by Denethor just before the invasion, or some sign of rural settlements and crops located behind the walls. maybe signs of passage of men and carts right behind the wall, or the vague remains of ancient defensive ditches...I noticed that there's always a general tendency to represent fantasy worlds, cities and fortresses without taking into account that people need to work, live and trade there, that the buildings need reparations and modifications over time, that artistic and architectural styles change over time...there, I hope some of these ramblings can somehow inspire you even more, if that's even possible. Anyway your terrains are superb.

@@pierdurin duuude I couldn't agree more. That's something I'm really eager to do on my Edoras board, put in the LIFE of the city. Carts, supplies, crates, show the actual business of living. And the same thing here too, I usually do that later of detail in a final pass when the whole board is done or at least that's the plan. I love your suggestions too. I'm really keen on the idea of Denethor's, ordered repairs. I was thinking maybe some scaffolding and piles of stones and things :)

as an earphone user, my ear would like to issue a complain...at 1:01:40 why flocking the inside of the castle? i mean, it should be paved or muddy, but certainly not as green as you did. apart from that great job, my saliva is dripping on the ground.

This isn't a castle but a huge ring wall that encircles a huge field known as the Pelennor which was where Gondor grew a lot of their crops. The castle Minas Tirith is muuuuuch bigger and I'll eventually get to making that too :)

Despite being introduced by a republican, GST is a great, great thing. You're right it sucks for consumers, but you get used to it quickly, and it raises a shiton of income for Aus, which with the drought is really good, and remember, you aren't losing that money, you just don't get to choose what to spend it on, you still get be benefits of it, in healthcare, in education, in employment, transport, etc, it does benefit the poorest the most, but unlike income taxes, GST doesn't apply to savings, so you get the benefit of that interest when saving up, you get that interest, and it doesn't have to apply at all or as much depending on policy to big things like buying a house, food, clothing. But comparison to raising income taxes, it's way better. Sorry for the tangent.

Don't get me wrong, indirect taxation way better than direct taxation. Having the GST recently start applying to online purchases from overseas on top of the billion import tariffs and other taxes we already have? Not so much :(
