I was born across the street from that bank in 1958. I remember it being built when I was about 4 or 5 years old. It was also near a big Sears store where everyone shopped. My folks worked for the refineries.

Yeah! I would always see that building whenever my mom and I would visit a hospital and question why it was always empty. Miss that building tho!

Very emotional watching this. I grew up on Shaver Street in the 70’s. That bank was a staple there. My fondest memories were as a little kid when my parents would be driving us down the road and some pranksters had always filled the fountain out front full of bubbles. Seeing that was like a dream come true.

Oh you must be from around there too! It’s so sad. I grew up there as a kid. Much later moved to Illinois where I hate it. I have every intention of coming home to Texas big mistake to ever leave.

I had a dream about that building, and i had no idea that it is now closed. I grew up in the east end and used to go to Pasadena as a kid to visit family that moved to that area. I remember seeing that building as a kid and thinking what a strange place to put a tall building at.

Hey at least we should feel lucky that we saw it because some younger kids maybe never saw it and we did so we should feel very lucky that we saw a historical building

Houston is just a giant parking lot. They should focus on densification and better public transit. Otherwise Houston suburbs look so bland and soulless.

Okay first of all don’t say anything about Houston and Pasadena if you didn’t grow up here and second of all Houston if the best place to go to and if you’ve been here you would know how it looks like and what the background to all of our stuff like the paintings and graffiti and more see Houston was a place for everyone to have fun until war started with gangs and they took their spots 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️now you should know this if you lived here and Pasadena is west side aka crips side 🤦🏻‍♀️and the part of Houston you shouldn’t mess around with so I’m gladly happy to say your stupid comment is all over Pasadena tx😤

Been here for 30 years. Lived in deer park, Pasadena and the Barrio off Tidwell and Airline. I have a serious honest question to the people who act like they have pride in the city, then why don’t they take care of it, it’s trash and homeless everywhere. People on 45 drive like A holes, they only stick up for the city when they want to fight otherwise they throw a beer can out the window as they drive. An astros polo and a truck doesn’t mean anything to make the city a place people actually want to visit
