That just doesn’t happen in college basketball. The closest to forming a dynasty was duke, but they’ve fallen out of the top ten multiple times.

@@420Effect they haven’t won any titles. They aren’t a damn dynasty. The last dynasty was UCLA in the 60s/ 1970s. No other program has won more than 2 titles in a row.

@@austinmiller4832 I mean dynasty in the lose sense, they've already made more consecutive sweet 16 appearances then any other team ever, this is just he initial chapter in their meteoric rise to the position of new blue bloods in college basketball

I want Gonzaga to win, so that high profile basketball players go to mid major conference schools that are run well, and we can see the talent be more evenly distributed across more conferences in basketball. But more importantly, so that good coaches at mid major teams will see that it's possible to get good recruits without being at a power conference school, and they don't have to leave constantly for the higher profile jobs.

They haven't played Baylor yet and Baylor is better so there goes the undefeated season. The game was called off two hours before tipoff.

Baylor has a big advantage in the front court over Baylor. Both teams are good, but GU is more complete.

@@thetexastrucker7934 You got to be kidding me. Gonzaga LOVES to run. Gonzaga can run and play half court. Baylor doesn't have a front court. Gonzaga was completely off for 2 weeks and still HANDILY beat Iowa after only 2 practices and only having Kispert and Timme on the floor for only 25 minutes. Gonzaga lines up 4 NBA players.

Guess we can see how well these predictions turned out. Gonzaga is still undefeated, and Baylor has a loss. Don't get me wrong, Baylor is a great team, but Gonzaga is one of the best teams we've seen in the past decade. Source: BYU student, our team sometimes puts up a good fight, but this year just got manhandled by the Zags both times.

I’m from Spokane and my mom went to Gonzaga so I’ve been a fan for life. It’s definitely exciting to see them THIS good. They are always good, but nothing like this year. Also, number 22 Anton Watson is great too, very good defensively and he played high school basketball in Spokane at G-prep.

Same here man. Born and raised in Spokane, been watching Gonzaga since they started turning on the tourney games during class at Rogers HS. We’ve had many great teams, but I think we finally get over the hump this year!

Yeah a reason why they are so good is because of non power five team that’s so good. Same with villona so they play more easier opponents but still hard

Be carefull what you wish for... Virgina thought they could stop Gonzaga and the zags had the bench empty with 6 min left. They coulda won by 40. A defense first team isnt beating them. Gonzaga might have 3 1st round picks and 4-5 total pros on this team

I think we have a good chance of winning the national championship but as our defence inproves progress Gonzaga will be looking scary in the post season I also hope for Baylor Gonzaga in the national championship that would be a game right. Go Zags!

Gonzaga looks great so far, I would also say Michigan looks very good as well. Offensively, Michigan is averaging around 80 ppg and defensively they are very solid. At this point I think the final four is gonzaga, Baylor, Michigan, and maybe another big ten school

Been following Zags for a few, their team is always fun to watch. Last 2 seasons were amazing but this one is starting off epic. They are easily the best offensively they have ever been, and defensively I don't even need to mention. Timme, Kispert and Ayayi making serious valuable moves and Suggs and Nemhard are insanely good, this is the year I think.

The pressure will be at an all time high by the time the tourney hits for Gonzaga. I really like Kispert and Suggs, but they don't seem very deep, especially outside their top 6. An injury or early foul problems could really hurt them. You also get a sense that if good defensive team held Kispert and Suggs in check they would be in good position.

They look great but as a Kentucky fan that remembers watching my team go 38-1 don't count your chickens before they hatch. I thought for sure we were going 40-0 but we didn't. Wisconsin stopped that and the rest is history. If they do win the championship, I would be happy for them. Someone different winning is good if it isn't going to be my team cutting down the nets.

I agree Baylor plays the best defense in the country, but there's been some head scratchers, mainly the game against Iowa State. Iowa State was leading with about five minutes left. I know, a win is a win, but...that one seems a bit suspect to me. Baylor has to play a complete 40 minutes; Gonzaga can get away with having a few bad minutes and STILL win, even against top level competition.

If there’s any one thing that I wish they had it would be a true point guard that could take over a game. In the past they’ve had Blake, pangos, Dan dickau and others. With this team they have Corey however after him I’m not sure who they have that can manage the gm and propel the team to a win. And with that being said if all prevails so March madness does take place. This year’s tournament should be very interesting. Especially when this years team has what it takes to win it all. We’ll see what happens.

Over the last 6 or 7 years the Zags have been the most consistent program in the country. That is thanks to Mark Few. He is IMO the best coach in the country. I’m hoping BYU can catch up now with Coach Pope running things, but it’s going to take a while judging by that game the other night.

The Zags have had some phenomenal teams over the years. However this team is always in total control & seemingly a level above every other team. Tuff to say how they would compare to say Kareems UCLA that went 80 & 2 while he was there. Plus, players used to stay for 3-4 yrs allowing teams to really gel. Where as I’m sure Suggs will be gone as he could be the #1 NBA pick.

I was a firm believer that Gonzaga was only good because they played in the wcc. Im from Spokane so it was always way overhyped and I never really liked them. However mark few has always been a great coach and them getting better recruits, then playing more top 10 teams in their season has made me really like their underdog story and really believe they deserve to be mentioned with the Kansas and Duke programs etc.

As a BYU fan that has been watching this matchup ever since we joined the Wcc, I think BYU has more of a chance than people say. I only think so because we might get 3 shots at them this year, and this BYU team with lots of fresh faces has grown very quickly. I still would predict a series sweep by the zags, and I wouldn't even be mad because we're potentially seeing history in the making and *bonus*, Gonzaga represents mid-major schools; but don't be surprised if the cougs give them some trouble one of these games

I always said that Coach Mark Few is one of the best in college basketball, I'm a big Tennessee fan! I'm from Tennessee and have scouted a lot of teams, Gonzaga is in the top tier in my book. I can see Tennessee giving them some hard time, but I do believe Gonzaga is a completed team. I wish Tennessee would make some noise this year, it may take another year before they get much better, who knows? I think Gonzaga has made Tennessee better over the course of the last few years, wish the best for the Bulldogs & Volunteers! Oh! Please keep in mind Tennessee has the best defense in the country, they have limited scoring from all ends of the floor.

The suggestion in this video seems to be that Gonzaga beat Iowa even though the Hawkeyes have Garza. Well, yes. But Garza more than did his part. 30 and 10. But ultimately basketball is a team sport, and Gonzaga was the better team.

Don't forget, Gonzaga was ranked #1 at the end of last season, they had the best record in NCAA at the end of last season, and they won their last game at the WCC championship last season. As far as I'm concerned Gonzaga was the national champions at the end of last season. Then again, my opinion is with what you paid for it. GO GONZAGA!

Also real fast. The WCC should be considered a power conference. I don’t think people think about it but they have some great teams besides Gonzaga. St Mary’s is great, San Francisco is always good, as is BYU. Santa Clara is really nice, and the conference has some schools with a rich history.

WCC is underrated. Then again, watch them be like the Missouri Valley Conference: have two or three competive teams, those same teams leave the conference and then, MVC is another low-power conference again

The WCC was a Conference I didn't even Know about till BYU came in and somehow every team gives BYU some type of Trouble, usually it's San Francisco to give BYU the Upset, but Since BYU has come in the Conference, They are the Winniest team against Gonzaga, that should tell you how good Gonzaga is. WIth the Power Conference, I don't think it is a Power Conference, but the teams are def not like the Summet League or like the SWAC, so I would prob put them in what I would say is the Group of 5 best Conferences.

I remember when Oklahoma absolutely blasted Villanova in Hawaii a few years ago... then the final four happened and Oklahoma got obliterated by the same exact team. No one should underestimate Villanova or the field against anyone including Gonzaga.

“Maybe Houston could beat them” you say? No. As someone who goes to a university in the American conference, I can assure you that Houston would never win. Caleb Mills just transferred out, and their field goal percentages are horrid. They have really good offensive efficiency only because of how well they rebound, resulting in second chance points, but the offense just isn’t there in general. You can’t even put the two teams in the same conversation.

If it wasn't for their geographic location, they would already be in the Big East with similar private institutions that have had more historical success and a higher profile than the other bottom feeders in the WCC not named BYU or SMC. The Big East would definitely give them more balanced competition rather than playing teams that don't care about investing in their basketball programs and are seemingly content riding on Gonzaga's coattails

No, I don’t think they will ever join the pac-12. The PAC-12 is a football and basketball conference, and Gonzaga doesn’t have a football team.

Gonzaga is to small for a football program. So no the won’t join a garbage pac-12 conference. Besides what’s the point? They beat every pac-12 team every time they play them anyways.

Gonzaga almost left for the mountain west after the 2017 championship... However they changed the limit of conference games so Zags changed... Its remarkable now that teams like Kentucky want to come to Spokane... Could never have predicted this in 1999 during their first run... What they have done is astounding and Ive never seen in college sports.

I don't think they could we have a really tallented offence and our defence is pretty good I think it would be close but I think baylor is the only team that can beat the Zags (I haven't seen MICHIGAN play so maybe your right IDK) Go Zags

This guy has only been watching the zags since the 2010's... Pargo... Turiaf... Dan Dickau... A lot of former all american transfers...Since 1999... They were just unfortunate in the 2000's and lost by close margins evrery tournament since that time.
