Sounds like a tennis ball hitting the sweet spot of a racket! I remember reading a scouting report and seeing in the negative column "he gets a ton of blocks but he needs to learn to block it in bounds so his team retains possessions" and thinking that was the most unreasonable reaching for a negative a scout could possibly come up with. Then I saw his face! / Now I'm a believer! / Not a trace! / Of doubt in my mind!

It's so sad that people continue to parrot this ignorant narrative. These regurgitated lack of facts needs to be put to rest. Hamilton took an injury-riddled squad and navigated throught the potholes layed in front of him masterfully, while the misfortunes continued to pile up. Eventually the misfortune accompanied with some unfortunate officiating and poor shooting was too much to overcome.FSU held Gozaga to their 2nd worst offensive performance all year at the time and that with multiple injuries and missing a 7-foot shot-blocking beast in Iki Obiagu.

I give so much credit to Mark Few and his staff for the fact that his teams needed to get mentally tougher. They had to get tougher physically and defensively, and therefore, they needed to alter their recruiting approach. THe result of this has been 5 straight sweet 16's or better in 5 straight years - only one of three teams in the expanded bracket era to do this. And they weren't always a #1 seed. They once made the sweet 16 as a #11. Moreover, if COVID-19 hadn't occurred, they would've been the 2nd overall number 1 seed in the west this spring with their first 2 games being playing at the off campus city owned arena in Spokane. They stand a great chance of being the preseason 2020/21 #1 team (if we have a season). They only lost Tillie, the guys who are testing the waters are likely to come back, and they have the best recruiting class in history coming in, including top 5 recruit Jalen Suggs from Minneapolis who will give something that Gonzaga had never had, and that's a lottery pick PG.

As a zags fan who watches nearly all their games in last 20plus years tonight was so far from their A game. Missing 1and 1's,layups, a lot open 3's. Crandell has to play better offensively later in this tourney as their 1 backup guard. Nice job by tillie and Clarke most of 2nd half on boards! Lets be real though FSU was down 2 players in cofer and Nichols. Basically a 3rd one when savoy tweaked his shoulder. I know their big guy had 4 fouls, but he usually plays no more than 15 minutes anyway. Zags need to clean up some things going forward to win the title. I picked zags vs UNC in final with UNC winning. That isn't b/c UNC beat them earlier this season. Zags didn't have tillie or crandell then. I think UNC can outrebound the zags so UNC would have to lay an egg from 3pt line to lose to the zags? Anyway, we got tough defensive team texas tech Saturday!

raysalsa1 Let’s be real, if you picked Unc to win this season your a front runner not a real fan . A real fan believes in their team win or loss. If the Zags win the title, lemme guess you’ll tell everyone you knew they could do it right? Go Cowboys too huh ???

@@Aglassact77Your right i'm not a real fan. You want that watch the cheerleaders and about 95% of the people in the stands who don't fully understand the game like me. I'm objective about things and not subjective like most FANS. Loyola had real fans last year, but does anyone think they could win the title. I picked zag vs unc in final in bracket 2 years ago and nova to win last year. Also I picked nova to have no close games and I was right. They destroyed the field last year, but I didn't really think the zags could beat them last year even no matter how much I would wan't them to win. I hate the patriots and was rooting for the rams, but I still predicted the patriots to win.

I believed this team was going to the Final Four, likely the championship. Virginia was slightly better, but Gonzaga would’ve beaten them 45 times out of 100. Texas Tech was a very good team who earned it though. I think Gonzaga beats them 6 out of 10 times, but TxTech took the one that mattered. Zags turned it over too much, and the refs swallowed their whistles all around. Zags didn’t adjust enough, so the credit goes to TT. Mooney especially stole the ball in big spots several times.

@@ianorcutt1645 Gonzaga fans like me feel good beating schools with larger student bodies and deep pockets. And yes, Gonzaga is in a weak conference. On the other hand, it has a high ranking nationally despite the conference we are in, not because of it. The proof is in the results. Gonzaga has played in every NCAA tournament since 1999. They have gone to round 32 16 times, the Sweet Sixteen 8 times, the Elite Eight three times, and the Final Four once. Go watch how they just beat Florida State, a very strong team.

@@ianorcutt1645It definitely matters. People typically choose large markets for more exposure, which tends to deprive a lot of schools of talent. Gonzaga has transcended that ideology. Clarke and Hachimura (and Tillie!) make up the best front court for sure. Clarke and Hachimura should both be lottery picks, really. And Norvell hit his 3rd dagger three in an NCAA tournament game and he's only a sophomore! ONIONS!

Um. Hachimura was in there multiple times, including multiple awesome mid-range jumpers, plus that awesome grab of the pass that Perkins fed over the 7'4" guy. You would know that if you watched the video before whining.
