The actress playing Debbie nailed it. I love her transformation from this scene to the last where she’s all cleaned up, hair done and dressed nice. Same attitude though.

Always love how you can see the strained pain in Pine's face when he tells his son "No, you believe it. I did all of it." I loved how he had the strength to be brutally honest with his son; to let him subtly know he is sacrificing a part of himself to save him and his brother and give them a better life.

Took a moment and looked up this filming location, 315 5th St, Estancia, NM (similar to West Texas setting but has movie tax breaks): since the film the restaurant they used closed and that bank building was demolished (they dressed up an abandoned building for the movie) with a small park in its place. These towns are dying as bad as one of the Rangers later says later in the film.

I love the dynamic between him and his ex. It's not trying to set up some fairy tale romantic ending. They're both damaged from their divorce, she's still mad at how he handled it. He's nothing but honest about how he's screwed things up. Realism is always more impressive than over dramatized fantasy

There was another varsion of it without the big stars. It was only a few years ago. I liked that one. I wish they would make the dialogue audible. I doubt people talk like that. This one doesn't even have captions. Obviously the channel couldn't even get speech to text to generate captions. That bad the audio it that even software can't generate subtitles. Some directors apparently do it deliberatly to make it suit cinema audio systems. Mr. Nolan says that he doesn't care about people watching his films on streaming with anything other the best hi-fi sound system as if that would make people travel long distances to go to a cinema with really fancy expensive hi-fi. It is even worse than haves and have nots now. Nolan and others like him make movies for themselves and their friends and other rich people who like cinema. Soon even those rich people who don't like cinema will have to go and see such film just to be able to say that they have seen it and quote a few sentences as proof. The absurdity of it is absurd😂😅.
