He Bros, cool blue saw. I was going to ask if you don’t mind. How did u get into logging? How long have you been doing it? How old r u? I’m not writing a book Partner, just curious. I’m 55. been logging on my own for over 32 years now. My Pop was a farmer and logged anything He had to like where he would build ponds or needed corners cut for pivots and such. I liked the logging but not the farming at the time I finished high school so much. So he helped me get a 540 cable tractor and a 210 prentice to get started. enjoyed the vid Hoskins. AC

Well I’m a 3rd generation logger. I went to college for a couple years after high school and didn’t really like it all that much, so I came home and went to the woods. My grandpa started with mules and a crosscut eventually got a bulldozer and chainsaws. Dad came in when he was in his early 20’s after working a couple different jobs. I’m pretty sure he cut his teeth on a bulldozer anyways. He kind of took it to the next level, bought this outfits first skidder 440B jd. said that thing was a death trap. Then he went to an earlier model 518 than we have now. Sometime after that he bought a Knuckleboom. Used to run a lot if timber for a small family owned outfit. Dad downsized in the late 2000’s when prices dropped so low. So anyway I came back from college I think I was 21 when I started to work. I’m 25 now. I was always around it when I was young. I used to drive the dozer around in the pit when I was like 12 or so. I’ve decided I’m gonna try to make a run at this life, so we’re trying to pick up the pace to get back to where we once were. Thanks for asking, and thanks for watching buddy

With the lumber prices so extremely high at the lumber yards now, are you getting more money for your logs now?.
@hoskinslogging98583 жыл бұрын
Timber is up a little. Doesn’t compare to the increase in lumber prices unfortunately.

Nice days work.if that roller was higher the winch wouldn't work so hard.its that arch she's little low because of the style.I like roller 8 ft high.gives way more lift.
@hoskinslogging98583 жыл бұрын
Yeah I know where an arch is for that thing if it’s still there. I might go get it in a week or so. I noticed yesterday that I’ve about tore those finders off pulling those big loads up in that arch haha

i like how quick the winch is i havent ran a fast winch in a few days
@hoskinslogging98583 жыл бұрын
I haven’t gotten used to that winch yet. I think it’s because it’s a torque converter machine. I feel like I’m burning the clutches out of the winch when I have to lay to coal to it to get it to winch a heavy load.
@hoskinslogging98583 жыл бұрын
You wouldn’t happen to know where a man might find some rims and tired for this skidder would ya? I think the ones that are on it are way to tall. Kinda makes the skidder feel boggy

That design actually doesn’t belong to me. My wife got me that before I even started KZfaq. Found it on Instagram. I’ve been looking into getting some shirts to sell may do that soon. The boom is a 1994 210d
