@@phoenixfirebby I don't think Wasabii is trying to give any message in particular other than "I'm like this, I like doing this, this is who I am and what I like doing and it's not my intention to change for people who judge me negatively". She breaks the mold Korean people tend to build for women to fit in, and that's something! But sleeq's message through music are quite relevant, as she speaks about equality, inclusion, and others. If you look up for the lyrics of her first performance on the show, you'll notice that. And for me that is quite important, she's saying important things through music in a big entertainment platform, so it hits more people.

Both Sleeq and Wasabii push the envelop to shed light on the Korean society's discomfort in its attitude towards women. They each break the very narrow mold that is put on Korean women on TV, and I think it is striking a cord because there's been such an increase in people's awareness of sexual discrimination.

@@iamyoonis so true! not only what they say, but the way they look and portray themselves is also out of the mold. both of them have looks and behaviors that aren't really popular in Korean TV. I really don't know how the situation regarding sexism is on Korea right now, though I know how it is as a whole around years, but I really hope having women like them gaining space and voice helps it somehow.

Naja Mcgriff Sleeq's solo stage in the first ep was a rap about suppressed rights of some minor groups of people. She called herself a feminist, and I don't think that's a very popular movement in Korea. She got 4 out of 9 votes, other good girls contestants said they had a hard time thinking of their styles together but daaammmnnnn I'm stanning Sleeq now.

I would say the opposite for queen Wa$abii. Like I'm not hating on her or nothing, but like Wasabi to me was the weakest link in the show. Her only shtick was twerking booty music and anyone who collabed with her had to adjust to her style. Even Sleeq. Like yeah she was fun and definitely added flavor to the show but so did youngji and she did more. Idk I just felt once you saw one queen wasabii performance ya already knew how the others went: booty anthems. With Sleeq you could never tell what would happen next with her and who she paired with. True artistry. and it made me glad this show wasn't an elimination competition and gave her lots of chances to reveal more of her character so the audience and members grew to love her. Im a new fan

I came for Park Jimin (Jamie) originally, but I'm coming away a fan of several artists, Sleeq and Ailee being among them. Jamie is an amazing singer but I haven't heard emotion out of her like Ailee yet, but I'm on the episode this came out on. I hope to hear her talents sing something similar. Ailee and Sleeq are both talented and individuals filled with empathy.

To be honest I got KZfaq recommendations for good girl I think it's like this cause I watch Mnet idol performance very much . I don't clearly remember but in the end I stayed watching whole show because of the talent these all girls has . Each girl has made their own spot in my heart

Agreed, though I wouldn't say Sleeq changes much to fit in. Rather to me it's like she's unveiling layers of herself that people just didn't see before. Like in the first episode she breaks down her "feminist from Hell" label - "Who would actually call themselves a feminist from Hell?!?" And then of course gushing over Hyoyeon like the SNSD fangirl she is, and learning to dance, and just being her and allowing the other ladies to learn to accept her. :) Like you said, first impressions aren't everything, and we're seeing that Sleeq is so much more than just her intense first impression. And we can't forget how starstruck she was after the fact because she just didn't recognize anyone right away. XD
