Kendrick's reflecting on being 16-17 throughout this record besides the track Compton. I think my surprise of this album back in 2012 was the many producers on it that wasn't from TDE mostly. There's a interview (I believe MTV) about how the album was cohesive and when asked they said Kendrick is very hands- on with his albums. Basically saying he's a producer himself without the actual title. Last thing for a person who only plays Poetic Justice whenever I play the album. To find out in 2024 that this song is about Hip Hop. Blew my mind!
