You don’t need to know a song to freestyle, you just have to let your body go with the flow 🤷🏻‍♂️ just dance and that’s it, the beat is stable, move with it. People who can’t freestyle is a because they aren’t natural dancers. A natural dance let the body move with what they are hearing, it’s something that just happen, I can’t explain it 😂 it’s like improvising singing riffs. And also music has patrons, your body just know them, it’s muscle memory.

I can make moves on the spot to a song i just heard especially if it has nice beats (i do it suddenly at the mall and my friends are embarrassed 😂). though I understand that not everyone can do that. on the other hand though, it's hard for me to memorize/catch a choreography

In Chaeyeon’s case, it wasn’t technically a freestyle, since she was using an old choreography she did when she was a trainee (there’s a video of it on KZfaq, but I forgot the name of the song). But kudos for her musicality tho, she read the beats so well it looked like she was grooving spontaneously.

I had my suspicions a while back. I don't mean to come at her but I didn't get the thought that she may be good at freestyling on the spot the way a lot of American dancers are (e.g Fik-Shun, Dytto, Charlize Glass, Bailey Sok, Big Will Simmons just to name a few). Thanks for clearing that up. A lot of people ran with the narrative that she freestyled to the song. With that said, does anyone know what genre of dance she most lean towards? For example, Chung-Ha leans towards modern dance, waccking and voguing.

Confidence is a big part of performance in my humble opinion. You don't have to be great at something but if you're deliberate and confident in what you're doing, it looks so good!

Lisa's taxi and star dance wasn't freestyle, it's a famous Thai dance (It's famous in Philippines too I guess). They themselves said that it's a Thai dance and a lot of Thai teenagers dance to it.

The dance Lisa did in Knowing bro’s wasn’t freestyle. Apparently It’ was a famous Thailand dance move. She mentions it too at the beginning. Also for irenes dance to Havana she wasn’t freestyling she was recreating this video that went viral of her. But great video it did teach me a lot!!!

I think Hayoung's and Hyoyeon's freestyle's were my favorite and I love Chaeyeon's too Wendy actually has great musicality, but she really lacks in dancing technique. Her Freestyle to Beyonce's Naughty was the best I've seen among Red Velvet's freestyles, and it was on a stage!

@@ireneverse7485 okay I think "perverted" might have been a bit harsh, but the way they were treating Joy was quite disrespectful, and were not appropriate for the situation. Even if they appreciated her dancing and wanted to show encouragement, there would have been better ways such as clapping instead of making questionable noises. Their behaviour is clearly uncomfortable for everyone around them, so maybe they should change how they treat female idols. Still, I admit that "perverted" was a bit harsh and I'll be more aware of my wording next time!

It's so funny how they think Lisa is the BEST DANCER in the K-POP industry, just because she and her group is famous. If you watch Lilifilms it has so many cut versions, in which they need to repeat her dance movements to find the best angles. Blinks can't accept the fact that she's really STIFF she can't execute her body movements properly. Her torso up to her body can't compliment to her dance movements. And she kept on repeating her style of movements,her free style is below 4/10. This is not a hate comment, but an OPINION and FACTS. So if you can't accept it idgad.

I really respect Hyoyeon and Momo generally choosing a mostly underrated style for GGs, which is popping, lock,m isolation and waacking. Momo has the potential to really develop those pops as she gets older. Edit: ALSO HAYOUNG MY GOOD NESS THAT GROOVE IS FIRE

@vic sz I think it's mostly because she isnt trained by JYP for that. As most girl groups probably focus on clean lines, angles and projection specifically for group performance. If Momo decides to pursue popping more, she'll really be a monster. She has the power, and isolation so she can definitely pull this off.
