Standards of the market. The biggest reason companies tend to try to get the palest, skinniest cutest idols they could get idol-ready, is because it helps sell products. Cant claim that a products whitens skin if the girl doesnt have that smooth cream complexion or good skin. It's the same with why girls shave their legs now even though we didn't before. Companies wanted/needed more money. When you need more, you advertise and make a trend. Some trends just stuck. (Not that I hate shaving. Nothing feels better than smooth legs) More like it's weird that we make fun of each other for stuff like that. If you look deep enough into most things we believe, someone out there is profiting from it.

I watched that episode of Hello Counselor, since it was fx. The issue that time is this girl complaining about how her brother (the jerk guy in the vid) kept on telling her that she's too fat. But her height is around the same height or taller than Sulli, and is only freaking 47kg! When I watched it, if I can only slap that guy's face from the screen, I would do it. Then I was really impressed on how composed Amber and Sulli was after that guy body shamed Sulli. But yeah.. Amber and the rest of f(x) together with the hosts and the audience made a deal with the jerk that if the girl received more than hundred votes from them he will stop calling her fat, and would zip his mouth. And the jerk is over confident that her sister won't even get 50 votes. Then the hosts said "We'll see." Then the vote came out and it has an almost perfect vote. But yeah, Amber almost punched the guy if she's not professional. Seriously, Korean mindset is so fucked uo and so obsessed with their standard of being beautiful. Kpop artists are not specifically portrayed as only musicians. They were made to portray perfection in the young generations eyes. Regardless of how companies represent them as, it's mainly the fans and people in Korea that needs to set their standards in a realistic level. Nam Nugooyen ok i get it.I get that its a part of being an idol in korea but I really wish koreans would go easy on these idols as they are humans too,they have feelings too and dreams to achieve which shouldnt be looked down on bc of the shape of their body.If their body is not upto their expectations,they can simply just not stan them but instead saying things like "you're ugly" or "ur gross" is really hurtful.I just hope one day ,they will understand that they are humans too not some robots.

The problem is, most Koreans aren’t even close to reaching their own beauty standards that they force idols to have. They themselves have yet to achieve those standards, and they think they get to decide how idols should look like? It’s not like the country is filled with beautiful or perfect people, they’re regular like everyone else on the planet.

Because they are products... If they themselves dnt look the epitome of beauty then how will they sell stuffs.. If a idol isn't lusted after..or inspire a sense of "i want to be like her" will people buy things she/he endorses?? It's our fault basically!! miko I have a cousin who is just naturally very skinny and her family is always telling her “your so skinny you are just gonna fly away some day hahaha” “your so skinny does your mom even feed you hahaha” she doesn’t have the ass everyone wants so she gets shamed for that by kids at school and she is very insecure about all this because there is nothing she can do about it because of her wicked fast metabolism so yes skinny people do get body shamed and insecure just because you don’t see it happen often doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist
