Thanks. I thought I was going to love the TomTom, but no. I just couldn't get on with it. I hated the look of it on that mount & loads of things annoyed me about it. As I said in your other comment, I sold it & fitted a Garmin Zumo XT2

I was going to count how many times we said the word Plug😄. I worked it out a lot more on our recent trip to Portugal. Now we've had the conversation about Africa🙃. I'll show you how it works somewhere.

@Mr Dee I went to South of France. Met Helmet Head & did leg 2 of his World trip. Go to his channel & you'll see. I might go to Africa. Not sure yet.

Thanks David. The truth is I very nearly binned this one off. I literally almost deleted the footage & was going to go straight on to the Helmet Head monkey bike build. After a couple of people told me just to get on with it, I did. I think it turned out okish 😊

I know what your saying. However, your just at an intersection on a motorway & looking to see which bit you need to take & BOOM you get a phone call from a gentleman to ask when your phone contract is ending or do you want fuel cards or who is your card machine with or when does your electricity contract end. You know all those awesome phone calls. Then you've lost navigation at that crucial point. I'm sure phones work just fine. I just wanted a dedicated sat nav.

Thanks Phil. Wookiee's had a series of bad things happen recently, but he's coping OK. He's a bit down atm because of it all. He'll be ok soon.

That's sad to hear,don't like to think that either of you are having it rough. Having been there myself many times,that's why bikes are a great leveler and help the mental health

Ooooooooo thanks I'll have a look in the settings & do the same. Brilliant. Thanks. I've also noticed on my recent trip to Portugal that the screen goes blank every now & then. Only for a couple of seconds, but it does worry me if there's an issue or it's just what they do.

That was all done in a studio with a green screen to add an element of danger, excitement & pazaz to what could of been a boring video. 😄

@Ian Cornwell I did know the answer to that as I research the hell out of everything before buying things. I cant remember right now though. I just spent weeks researching backpacks or rucksacks. Wookiee laughs how I research everything. I needed a backpack for a trip coming up in May as we fly to Portugal & I need everything on my for the whole trip. If you look on KZfaq you will find the difference between the TomTom's

Well funny you say that. I paired my phone to it with Bluetooth to send a destination to it. I was doing this & then turning the Bluetooth off. I must of forgotten after doing that once. I was riding through France & I noticed a WhatsApp message come up at the bottom of the TomTom. Then I noticed a little telephone icon in the bottom right of the screen. I was ridding for hrs. Later a mate called me & as well as coming up on my tft it also came up on the TomTom. The only negative to this was I was literally just looking which junction to take off a motorway. I quickly used my whizzy wheel to answer the phone & the TomTom went back to satnav mode. So I guess you just pair your phone. In settings. Hit Bluetooth. Then on your phone keep your finger on Bluetooth. Then the TomTom comes up on your phone. Pair them. Then it comes up to allow sharing contacts to the TomTom on your phone I seem to remember. Click allow. Then you should be done I think.

@georgemcray do not do it. I hated it. It lasted 2 trips. I sold it & fitted a Garmin zumo Xt2. I've converted a few BMW cradle's now for customers so you can lock the Zumo with the BMW key. It's the Satnav BMW should of used in the first place.

@@Nightcrawler666 Thanks man. Checking even more, I found more riders who had many issues with it. The Zumo xt2 seems a more sensible choice. When you have the chance it would be very helpful to see a review about it since there are STILL people promoting the 550 even today!
