Hi thank you so much for that. I reached my 60lb target 5 years ago and you have just put into words the mindset I have had for 5 yrs cutting back on food before weigh in constantly think about sins. Well done for a great decision.

I’m so glad you are feeling better. I left SW for exactly the same reasons. For me it was things like not being able to have seeded bread, trying other foods like you mentioned. You will have a far healthier approach to food now and nothing is restricted. Good luck my darling on the rest of your journey. Xxx

You can have seeded bread. I don’t cut back before a weigh in. I don’t get why people feel they have to cut back. I’ve lost nearly 2 stone following Slimming World and I’ve not cut any foods out. I eat more Free Food but less avocado or seeded bread. I’ve not cut anything out.

I’ve lost nearly 2 stone following Slimming World and I’ve not cut any foods out. I eat more Free Food but less avocado or seeded bread. I’ve not cut anything out.

I can totally understand, I lost 20lb in the last 10 weeks to go on holiday, back to target, but went on holiday, after 4 days became very poorly, I introduced naughty food, I was so ill for 6 days, in so much pain in my stomach, I'm now home and only eating what I feel like, the sad thing was mentally I was so happy that I was poorly and not putting on any weight, I couldn't wait to get home and get weighed, and I was still at target, im now taking a step back and giving myself a break, big hugs ❤

Hi congratulations on your weight loss think the accountability of being weighed and the support of a group of people who have the same problem you have goes along way imo it’s 70% part of why you lose the weight and not the particular diet that’s why you gain it back when you stop attending a group

At the start of this video my heart sunk as this is a genuine fear that I have one of my members feeling. As a consultant I know how heartbreaking it can be to get those messages sometimes. Sometimes you don't know what say but I don't think it would be a anything against you. I know deeply care about all my members and always welcome them back with open arms should they want the support from me and group (I am sure your consultant feels the same) I just wanted to clarify: Members do get discounts on hifi bars, magazines and time to time Iceland range which all are also available to the general public (at a higher price). Slimming World isnt meant to be about restricting ever but filling your belly with the things that give you the results you want. Good luck in your future journey and thank you for being so honest.

Hi Frankieloves, thanks for your comment and time to watch the video too! Yes, I have had the discounted rates on bars, magazines and the Iceland range too with membership which was good, but I do think that SW have missed a trick by allowing the general public to buy the boxes and not offer them exclusively to members, especially as the price point is outside of other competitors such as Gousto or Hello Fresh or Musclefood. A whole week of food and snacks from Musclefood costs £70, so when you compare that to the cost of what SW are charging, it is no wonder that members are feeling short changed. Only time will tell how it’ll all work out, but for me, I am enjoying foods that I haven’t eaten in a year and I am eating more healthily now too. My fibre intake is up to over 30g daily and I feel fuller for longer too. Thanks for your comment once again 😊

I can understand how you feel about Slimming World. Hopefully you can enjoy food in a positive way. I worried about food when is hospital too . A and B choices, meals to choose which were Slimming World friendly

Hello Denise, lovely to see you back again, you have really been missed. I am so sorry you have been so unwell, what a worry for you both. I do completely understand where you are coming from regarding SW, just an acknowledgement from your consultant is all it would take for her to let you know that you are important and if you want to give it a break that is your decision and one that you haven’t taken lightly. You have done so well and I, for one, look on you as an inspiration and will continue to follow you and, I know, will enjoy whatever content you you decide to share online. Hi Kirstine, I haven’t looked at Nutracheck. I am using MyFitnessPal. What difference is Nutracheck to MFP? I have very much enjoyed more food freedom the last few days, it is taking some adjustment but it won’t be overnight fix to change my mindset about the scales or certain aspects of eating! Xx

Hello Denise, thank you for your message, you have done so incredibly well since you have joined Slimming World and I am proud to have been part of your journey. Sometimes things change and we have difficult decisions to make. I will always be a message away or if you feel at some point in the future you would like to join us again you will be welcomed with open arms. Take care of yourself and all the best for the future. We are all individuals and we have to do what we feel is right for ourselves without worry or guilt. I will not stop watching your videos as you and James are a smashing, kind and lovely couple and I think a lot of you both 🥰 Totally agree about the cost of the boxes, I don't think they will be able to sustain that part of their business unless the either reduce the cost or give members some kind of discount. Hi Kim, thank you so much and I really appreciate the response to the text too. I was disappointed as did think it warranted a reply, but it is what it is! We do indeed, need to do what suits us for what we want to achieve and work with in our lives. I am so glad that you are going to continue to watch the videos and support the channel. James and I are both ever so grateful for your kindness and support, as always. The food boxes are very expensive, and I agree with you that I do not think that it is sustainable. Thank you for your truthfulness. I nearly stopped slimming world but decided to do one more countdown. I too looked at the boxes and thought no way £6 per head for chilli con carne that I’m cooking myself. I’ve also questioned why a 400 cal ready meal by anyone other than slimming world can be so high in syns. I’ll continue to watch you and wish you luck.

I am feeling much more free, by enjoying more of what I like and can enjoy those other 400kcal meals, it has felt pretty liberating! I keep thinking of syn value. I was so fed up last week that I actually put my target weight up as I can’t substain the target I was at. My weight is just creeping up. I’ve felt like giving up on slimming world. My friend packed it in a few weeks ago and she says she feels much better now she is not constantly thinking of food and weight all day long. The only thing is if I pack it in I am afraid I will put my weight all back on again. I feel like I’m trapped Take care Denise ❤from a Geordie subscriber 🇬🇧 xxx

I wonder if you need a diet break after dieting for so long. I don’t mean go off the wagon but just concentrate on maintenance your weight for a few weeks then start at it again after the break. Sometimes this can kick start a weight loss or just as Denise says all our bodies have their ideal weight whether you are 5’3 or 6 ft so don’t compare your ideal weight to someone with the same height or age. Our body is a complex piece of machinery and your mental health is just as important as your physical. I wish you well and hope you don’t remain feeling trapped as you describe as there is always a way out it’s just you giving yourself permission to find it. Good luck

Hi another good video. Well done for putting yourself first. SW does work very well however can take over a bit if you let it. Oh Denise thank goodness what a revolution i have been there and thank you i thought it was me having the same thouhts like you i was unwell & beat myself up as my appetite went and only wanted to snack the co stant syn checking and scanning at the supermarket became addictive in a strange way I now don go to SW for that reason i lost 3 stone and yes probably have put alot back on but i had been doing since last July and weight was not shifting even when on plan thank you you talk so much sense and look forward to your videos and glad u r feeling better

You are definitely doing the right thing and I have also recently reached the same conclusion! I definitely have disordered eating as I have been dieting for decades. Yesterday we had breakfast out and I sat there looking at the menu & realised that it’s years since I ordered something I wanted instead of whatever has the lowest calories even if I don’t want it! We are in the process of moving house and there is so much stress involved that I feel what I eat is the lowest priority right now! The boxes are way too expensive! I hope you feel better soon ❤

Hello,well you have been very unwell,sorry to hear that.I’m with SW have lost three stone and a couple of lbs to target.I’ve been overweight most of my life ,and SW really works for me.Having said that had a couple of false starts due to the consultant,now after changing groups and finding the best consultant ever who talks much more about what’s going on in your head and not focusing too much on what you’re eating.I do blind weigh ins every week so only really know I’ve lost when I get another award (two stone , two half stone) it has really worked for me not knowing what the scales are saying.There are so many other factors related to losing weight and definitely not only what the scales say .We are all very different and weather you are or not doing SW i will still follow you,good luck and just keep being consistent.

Hi Kim, thank you for your well wishes! SW has worked for me, after following it for 52 weeks religiously! I am glad that it works for you and that you’ve found a consultant who cares and who you can relate to, and feel comfortable with too. I am going to be weighing at home, and my husband and I are both going to use MyFitnessPal on a daily basis to track our food/calories and we will both weigh in at home together too. Weight loss is all about the headspace. You have all the skills and knowledge just need to balance your food intake. Focus on what is good for you and managing the portion control. personally my cravings for sugar and the rubbish has gone. I no longer want it as my body has changed and my diet has changed and my body no longer wants it. Calorie awareness works but make what you do eat be calories that nourish and feed you for the good. A day at a time and a lot of days will mount to a great deal.

I am a SlimmingWorlder but I really do feel it creates really unhealthy relationships with food. You have done wonderfully to loose 60lb. So glad you are sticking with KZfaq.

Sorry to hear you've been so unwell! I think it takes so much to move away from what you're used to when you can see that it's creating an unhealthy mindset, I really respect you for that. Glad you're on the mend, Denise. I missed your channel as I too have been in hospital having a hip replacement but now on the road to recovery. My husband is looking after me well but it means my food is simply that, nutrition to get me through the day. I will go back to class in about six/eight weeks and the scales will say whatever. I applaud your thinking because if alarm bells start to go off in your head, you must listen to them. I look forward to your new content and definitely won't hold it against you if you don't mention 'syn values'! I agree with you about the SW boxes. Thank you for being so honest, we all need a break sometimes! I’ve been doing SW for 18 months now and am about 5lbs from target and I must admit this last bit has been the hardest and I’ve been yo-yo-ing for ages, but I’m determined to get there, not only because it’s my target but so I can keep going for free 😂. I agree with you on the kitchen meals, why would you pay those prices when you can buy a fully prepped meal from Iceland for similar prices which you just have to throw in the microwave 🧐 anyway best of luck with your calorie counting, I’ll still be following you to see how you get on. So glad you’ve made the decision to leave slimming world. It sounds like you have a bad relationship with the diet.I myself got to the point where I was taking laxatives to loose weight bad ideas but although I put some weight on I do nutracheck which I find better 29 pounds a year .i will continue to follow your advice and keep up with your journey so sorry to hear that you have been so ill glad your better now wishing you all the best for your future journey take care my dear friend 🎉

Hi Lesley, thanks so much for your support. I have taken laxatives too, and can understand where you are coming from with that too. I haven’t tried Nutracheck as use MyFitnessPal, what is the difference? I am feeling rather rubbish again today, but I am in bed relaxing after a nap earlier this evening. Denise I am so glad you are feeling and I will still follow your videos. Your inspiration has been a great help to me. I have only 2 1/2 Stone to lose and following SW from home. I understand how restricting it can be and I tend to eat the same things as this means losing, and I worry about being entertained or going out I tend to beat myself up about food options. I will stick to SW but also look into calorie counting. Good luck will enjoy your future videos. 😃

Hi Danielle, thank you so much. My husband and I are now doing calorie counting on MyFitnessPal together, and we weigh in/check in with each other. We both need accountability, but I do understand how you feel about going to get weighed too. In a previous job, we had a weigh in morning and everyone’s weight was kept confidential, but it did help people stay on track! Xx

Hi Denise Well Done for being so honest - SW is a low fat diet that works but its also can be very unhealthy too. A lot of low syn foods are very over processed & the healthy foods are high in syns🤔 I have learnt so much about nutrition which I 🙏🏽 SW for but i never do their plan. I enjoy a lot of foods they demonise & like to eat as part of my day to day diet. I cook my own food most days have a few meals out but eat plenty of protein fats & veg. I find the Zoe channel & a brill usa lady called Dani Spiers Clean & Delicious really informative & there is also an ex SW consultant called Kieron who does Grow based on SW & Cal Count. Ive seen a few ex consultants quietly quit SW & do different plans to keep control of their weight. So sorry to hear about ur illness & hope ur recovery goes well. I think u should get to ur 6st call target continue with SW as a target member & weigh in for free every few weeks. Use this year to eat how u want to & not gain it back. There is no law that says u can't cal count & go to SW group. The plan is roughly based around 1500-1800 cals. I personally didn't see the point in counting syns & ignoring the nutrition info on the packets. You have worked really hard to get where u are & group support is so important. Glad ur not quitting utube & getting lots of support from ur utube fam🎉😳🙌🏾

@@ScottishFoodieLassie Hi Denise sorry to mither again but just binge watching some of ur old vids & shocked u did SW for so long😆🤣😂 Can i ask How often were u doing the to good to go bags? Omg some of the foods looked so delicious as i love bakery stuff. I can see u are a m&s girl which i like to do once a month & taste test with Aldi as where i do my main shop they are next door to each other. The difference with u from a year ago is amazing - it just goes to show the type of foods u eat are so important. The bad stuff taste so good but i have to learn how to navigate the hurdles to also enjoy the foods i love. I didnt realise u were a nurse. Its such a shame that so many of u are paying to do SW the NHS should really have a weight loss programme for their own staff at the very least. From a selfish point of veiw i cant wait to see the types of foods u choose. I have focused on eating my protein since Jan this year & dont snack between meals which is a real bonus. I have never paid attention to how many protein grams I eat but it has made a big difference & i do enjoy it. Im sure after reading the comments u will get tons of support. @dionnereid1737 hello! I did TGTG for a few months, lots of different offerings and deals. Sadly, it isn’t as easy or cheap to get a TGTG bag now as they changed the format! Most of the food was excellent, some was absolutely the worst ever though. We shop in Tesco, Food Warehouse and M&S as the three shops are in the same retail park. We do also like Aldi, but not ideally close to us and the road set up puts us off driving down that way (20min tailbacks!). Thank you, I don’t work in the NHS any longer, but there does need to be more support and research to support health care professionals in achieving healthier lifestyles for various reasons. I have had a good week of food and I must admit, I have enjoyed my food more and have had more food freedom to enjoy planning and buying food too! I look forward to updating you in my next video ❤️ xx

Hi Lovely, I’m a very new subscriber but I’m not going to unsubscribe simply because you’re no longer doing SW. I respect your decision, only you know how you feel and once you get an inkling of a disordered way of thinking about food it’s time to change because it can happen so quickly. I actually started to feel obsessive about food when I was doing calorie counting, so we’re all different and we have to listen to ourselves. Regarding your consultant, although I think she was being very shortsighted from a business perspective I think you’re probably reading too much into it. I don’t think your comment necessarily warranted a response and I don’t think she was being intentionally rude, but I do get it, you feel like you’ve built up a relationship with someone and it really doesn’t take much to send a little emoji and a best wishes text. Please don’t feel guilty about not trying the food boxes. They don’t look that great and I think they’re extortionate. Good luck with your new journey xx

I do think SW can take over sometimes. It’s like if I have cereal for breakfast and want pitta bread for lunch - but then not have it because I’ve already had my HEB. I like avocados and like you say if you want to pick a 400 calorie meal etc you get put off because of the syn value. That’s really bad. I would be upset too. My friend has taken a break from SW as her mind isn’t in it at the minute , and she let the consultant know and she was very supportive about it. Yes, the SW online box thing does seem expensive. It’ll be cheaper to go and buy the stuff yourself. 😮xxxxx

Hi Claire, thank you for sharing your experience with me. It has surprised me as to how many people have said similar things to you, and feel similar to how I do too! I have been enjoying having a little of what I want and loving it. Breakfast is Pro-Milk protein shake, mid morning is a yakult light, lunch is a frozen SW lunch pot, ringos and a lighter cheese portion, afternoon snack is a special K berry bar and dinner has been whatever I fancy within my calories but aiming for protein +++! I am looking forward to getting into the 14s. That’s my next goal 🥳 thanks for supporting me and sharing my thoughts! Xxx

Hi Denise, you must do what is right for you. I do agree that the slimming world food boxes are too expensive and there doesn't seem to be any incentives for paying members. My son also goes to slimming world and he said it's not worth the money for the cook boxes. To be honest I said you're better off just buying the frozen meals because they are already done for you and there is less washing up. I am struggling with losing weight at the moment but I will give slimming world a bit longer because my willpower is awful. I hope you are feeling much better and it's lovely to see you. You’ve made a decision which is right for you right now. You’ve learnt enough from SW to take bits from that and from when you lost using My Fitness Pal before too. I’ve been doing SW since Feb but I only do it online, I don’t need the extra support as I’m focused enough and have the support from my husband. I know at some point I won’t keep paying as I’ll have learnt enough. I don’t have any interest in their boxes at all. I’m happy when the meals are 3 for £10 at Iceland and if not I’ll make it from scratch, or use my slow cooker on busy days. I think the day you choose to weigh yourself at home matters too. I love doing it on a Monday morning, it’s the start of a new week and makes me more focused, so now you have that choice too to change it up to what suits you best. Hope you continue to feel better and get out and about in your new car. Good luck with this new chapter, you’ll be fine I’m sure of it x

The 3 for £10 deal is good and saves time a few times a week for lunches at work. Takes the hassle away from many things, and I am looking forward to seeing how I feel about which day to weigh in. I think a Saturday does give me a little boost but always, can have a little treat on the weekend then back to it on the Sunday! i came across your post i have been a member of slimming world and i have lost weight but found i kept loseing then put it on it made me depressed i felt like you some time you just want something different. i did look at my fitness pal and the app told me i needed to have 1200 calories but found that to low i do better on 1400 but dont no if you lose weight on that .have you tried 1400 calories and would you no if i would lose weight on that. well done to you for knowing what is best for you i wish you well

Highly recommend nutracheck if you’re calorie counting, much better than mfp and only costs about £25 per year.

I have now re subscribed back to your channel now that you have left s/w!! I did s/w on and off for years... never got to target...because its too restrictive!! We should be able to eat whatever we want to as long as we are in a calorie deficit... I use nutracheck now and get on much better with it ❤

Great to see you back and hope you are back to full health soon, you have to do what you feel is best for you regarding your weight loss journey , i am at target and struggling to maintain every week ,i put on a couple of pounds and then lose then back on , i was thinking of trying calorie counting to see if that would help me , good luck on your weight loss journey , i will keep watching your channel , take care ♥

Thank you so much, I do feel like I’ve made the right decision already. I feel happier about food and my choices available to me. I am using the MyFitnessPal app and have also downloaded Nutracheck. I want to see which one I prefer before I decide on it as MyFitnessPal is free but nutracheck has a small fee each month xx

Hi Denise big hugs that would have been a hard vlog to do on many levels, you have been doing some hard soul looking and still have a raspy voice. James awesome for getting you ice cream as much as your head screaming nope how many SYNS....it did you physically good and so soothing but mentally it helped turn the switch. I have worried a couple of times over time I have watched when you have mentioned limiting food pre weigh but as a stranger on Internet did not know how to mention so I am glad you have in your own time and way decided to change things.....had I felt over a consistent time worried I would have found a way. Looking back over the year you have come a long way learnt so much about changing eating and mindset and that it is a life long change not only what you eat but why you eat and now exploring how you use all that has been learnt and apply in a way you can sustain for life and that is fabulous. I am chuffed you fully used all inclusive options for holiday it was well needed. I am still plodding with SW a 1lb a week and heck that is OK as I balance previous knowledge of how I lose weight with SW and although I would love big weekly loss I know my slow but sure way will mean I keep it off but equally I will not feel bad about having a Rock Cake from batch I have just done for my son in law....Baker has to taste product me thinks. I am off to Glasgow on Wednesday and need to find a Greek, Indian and Fish place to eat for my daughter while she goes off for another tattoo where to start lol All before we see Thirty Seconds To Mars..... So big hugs again and wil see you on the next one ❤x

Dearest Denise ♡ I am terribly sorry that you have been so ill! You poor woman! I am sending lots of love, hugsxx & support your way, along with healing prayers for your speedy recovery. I am very happy to hear that you will be doing what is best for your health regarding healthy eating! I have been on a diet of one sort or another for the majority of my life. I even had weight loss surgery 14 years ago now. I have been morbidly obese 3 times. This led me to have disordered eating. I am glad that you are making the necessary changes to avoid becoming like me! I am no longer on a diet. I just can't do it anymore. I am instead going to try a different approach, weight loss & and maintenance. I hope that it what I do next will help me with my very unhealthy relationship with food. I wish you well on your continued journey!

You are better going to marks Spencer for good food and it last well I got the veg bag it was great I made couscous with it very filling sw kitchen box too expensive for most people 🐝🧵🐝
