I make a Warhammer 40k building based on a broken toy from a thrift store. The materials for the build are mostly second hand which made the project very inexpensive. Music by Karl Casey at White Bat Audio

Tidy Cat jug is absolutely priceless!!! Haha! And those walls were a great score to start off from! Definitely a dollar well spent!!!

Great build and the using junk mail to create your cans and bottle advertising is pure genius! I'm stealing this idea for sure! Keep up the great work!

I'm glad you liked it. I think of those kind of like Easter eggs for other people to find when they look closely at the terrain.

Using the outside plastic as a guide for the foam cutter to bulk it up was great. Using newspaper adverts to work as scale props worked so well too!
@thriftminis2 ай бұрын
Yeah the wire cutter was the most fun part of the build. I think I got the wire cutter cheap as well, I think it was $30 in a craft store. Thanks for watching!

Love the cheapness. Inexpensive terrain is the best. This looks as good or better than a lot of terrain built with ultra-expensive hobby kit. One note about fires in buildings - If you create V-patterns at the openings, if gives a real sense of reality.

Excellent video!!! I particularly loved the “thickening” of the walls. I did something similar with some of the GW Lord of the Rings thin plastic ruined walls.

It's funny because I kept thinking about those LOTR walls as I was building it! Thanks dude

I was a little skeptical when I saw you slapping foam and hot glue and Lego on there, but you tied everything together really well and it looks fantastic! Really good job, I may need to try copying this with whatever bits and bobs I can find at my own local thrift shops.

Thanks, I used to think white foam was junk and only use nice insulation foam board but if you are going to cover it with sand and grit its a great free option. Thanks for watching i am glad you liked it!

Great job, brother! I love the idea of taking small and advertisements and gluing them onto objects. Dang! Great build! - Rick, USMC

A fellow Devil Dog! Thanks bro,I also figured out that you could make advertisement signs using junk mail flyers also. I will do that in another project. Semper Fi!

I have so much junk toy sets I’ve picked up over the years at places like goodwill outlet for like a dollar a pound. Every time I’m like this will make a great piece of terrain and I have like 3 big bins full of those thrifted play sets in my garage lol This is really Inspiring though, I really should dig them all out and make a table of just thrift store terrain lol

@thriftminis2 ай бұрын
Yeah I think mine was about $30 at Hobby lobby so its not fancy like a proxon but I wanted the ability to sculpt foam in a way other than using a razor. It can create a different look.
